when he walked out on the team most of you hated him, he comes back and runs for 800 yards and all is forgiven? I still don't like Ricky and was hoping he played well so we could trade him. Saban himself who never tells what he's doing hinted at the idea of trading Ricky. He is 29 folks, we have another RB in Brown who is making the most money on the whole team and has the talent to make it. It's time for Brown to take over and show he's worth the money which he is. Ricky will probably retire after another few years, we can trade him for a 2nd rounder which will help us get a talented player who will be apart of the future. We are better off giving the ball to Brown 20-25 times a game than we are giving the ball to Ricky and Ronnie 10-15 times each. look at the stats, you get more output with one back getting more carries. RBs have rythm, the more they carry the ball the better they get.

Ricky will be traded for a 2nd rounder whether you guys like it or not and it will be for the better

Finally someone with some sense

When he came back everyone said 'Good if he plays well we can trade him'

He played well, now lets trade him, we have a younger more talented back who needs the playing time, and if we get a second round pick we could get a full time starter not just a role player like ricky is

For one, we didnt need another thread on this.

Second of all, you've got no idea if Ricky will be traded or not or for what, so dont claim you do. It's a prediction at this point.

shhhhhhhhhh... you know the rules about using common sense!! That isnt allowed here!! :tantrum:

You can never have too many good RB's....look at KC...the LJ and PH duo has been tough to stop

Keep Ricky!!! Run Ricky Run!!!

and we can pick up a competant back up for ronnie via free agency or we can bring Kay-Jay up...alot of people were singing his praises early on when we signed him...now everybody is dangling on ricky's nuts

I love how the two sides of almost every argument have their own thread that is pretty much a pep rally for their cause. I am waiting for one thread to turn into a Jets vs Sharks fiasco:lol:

I agree, although I understand the allure of having 2 top RBs. It's a great luxury, but we have other needs and as the original poster said, if we get a pick that we turn into a long term contributer, it's worth it. Besides, whatever we get for Ricky is gravy, as everybody thought there was no way he'd be back in the nfl, let alone with the Fins.

Whether we keep him as an elite backup or trade him, you got to give Saban huge credit for not just accepting conventional wisdom and keeping that door open.

Just remember, once it's done it's done. You can't have him back...

I can see it all now, Denver lands Ricky, and proceeds to walk all over the AFC Conference in 2006. Ricky probably breaks 2000 yards rushing. We give Ronnie his chance, and being that he's now all alone, he can't handle the load. We're at home on the couch during the playoffs again as a result...

Man, I really hate the thought of losing Ricky!!!.......

PHINZ RULE!!!!

+1

so if Ricky is on the roster come preseason will you:

1) come back and gulp down your large dirty bird that is CROW
2) have sand in your vag, b/c that TRAITOR is still on our team
3) be bitter if he has another 800+ yards

??

Ricky is not the same back he was 2 years ago people

Clinton Portis is just as good as Ricky is now and he never broke 2000 yards in Denver, come on people Ricky wont hit 2000 in denver thats just crazy

I love how Kay Jay is the heir apparent too. Maybe Denver wants him for a 1st rounder then?

I don't understand why they wouldn't. I mean he isn't one joint away. He isn't a former traitor. He's young. He'll be a solid back in this league according to the personnel gurus here.

You guys sure are convincing. Kay Jay > Ricky. Yeah, makes all sorts of sense.

not as crazy as a practice squad guy (and barely that) being our back-up tailback.
