Trading up to the Redskins spot (presumably to take Quinn) is an awful idea. The draft order and QB situations are as follows:
#6 Redskins - Obviously aren't taking a QB w/ former 1st rounder Jason Campbell ready.
#7 Vikings - They traded up last year to draft Tavaris Jackson in the 2nd round. And they didn't just trade a 5th or 6th rounder...they gave up two 3rd rounders. What this means is that they have two first-day picks invested in the kid. He didn't look good last year but no one expected him to. Something drastic would have had to have happened for them to change their minds about him so fast. Their secondary is the weakest part of the team and I would be fairly surprised if they didn't take Laron Landry if the Redskins don't, or their highest-rated CB (unless they graded one of the WR really high or Peterson drops).
#8 Falcons - Nothing needs to be said here.
#9 Dolphins - Need to wait for Quinn to fall into their laps if he makes it past #3.
#10 Texans - They obviously think the world of Schaub.
#11 Niners - Nothing needs to be said here.
#12 Bills - J.P. Losman looks like a pretty solid if unspectacular QB.
#13 Rams - Pro Bowler Mark Bulger just turned 30.
#14 Panthers - The one team I thought might trade in front of us to grab Quinn, but when they picked up David Carr that wasn't plausible any longer.
#15 Steelers - No.
#16 Packers - No.
#17 Jaguars - No.
#18 Bengals - God no.
#19 Titans - Nope.
#20 Giants - No.
#21 Broncos - No.
From this point on we have gotten to the playoff teams, all of whom have pretty stable QB play (other than the Bears). The reason I did the teams after us is to show how remote the chances are of a team moving in front of us to take Quinn.
This thread isn't about whether or not you think Quinn is good or sucks, etc. I want to hear if you agree with me about staying put, or if you have a convincing argument for moving up to #6, I would like to hear that as well.
