Trading up to the Redskins spot (presumably to take Quinn) is an awful idea. The draft order and QB situations are as follows:

#6 Redskins - Obviously aren't taking a QB w/ former 1st rounder Jason Campbell ready.

#7 Vikings - They traded up last year to draft Tavaris Jackson in the 2nd round. And they didn't just trade a 5th or 6th rounder...they gave up two 3rd rounders. What this means is that they have two first-day picks invested in the kid. He didn't look good last year but no one expected him to. Something drastic would have had to have happened for them to change their minds about him so fast. Their secondary is the weakest part of the team and I would be fairly surprised if they didn't take Laron Landry if the Redskins don't, or their highest-rated CB (unless they graded one of the WR really high or Peterson drops).

#8 Falcons - Nothing needs to be said here.

#9 Dolphins - Need to wait for Quinn to fall into their laps if he makes it past #3.

#10 Texans - They obviously think the world of Schaub.

#11 Niners - Nothing needs to be said here.

#12 Bills - J.P. Losman looks like a pretty solid if unspectacular QB.

#13 Rams - Pro Bowler Mark Bulger just turned 30.

#14 Panthers - The one team I thought might trade in front of us to grab Quinn, but when they picked up David Carr that wasn't plausible any longer.

#15 Steelers - No.

#16 Packers - No.

#17 Jaguars - No.

#18 Bengals - God no.

#19 Titans - Nope.

#20 Giants - No.

#21 Broncos - No.

From this point on we have gotten to the playoff teams, all of whom have pretty stable QB play (other than the Bears). The reason I did the teams after us is to show how remote the chances are of a team moving in front of us to take Quinn.

This thread isn't about whether or not you think Quinn is good or sucks, etc. I want to hear if you agree with me about staying put, or if you have a convincing argument for moving up to #6, I would like to hear that as well.

I agree this trade up crap hasnt made sense from the get go...Its just doesnt seem like any1 after Cleveland or Maybe TB to take Quinn....They can take our example for pissing away picks to somehow find a quality QB.

Good post.I agree, although I hope if Quinn Slips,The Vikes don't take him and try to trade him or anything...Will find out in 5 days :p

I think Quinn will either be a brown or if he starts to slip Minny

I agree about the Browns having a decent chance of taking him, although I personally still think it will be Peterson (if he's there). But Minnesota...is obviously the only other team at #6 or after who would even think about taking him...but I am just not buying it after moving up for Jackson last year.

Unless, of course, you're wrong and the Redskins or Vikings draft him because they consider him BPA, or trade down to acquire more picks so another team can draft Quinn.

Did you even read the part where I addressed the chances of another team moving up for him? Slim to none.

The Redskins wouldn't draft Quinn, I think that's fairly obvious to anyone with a brain given that Jason Campbell is a former 1st rounder and hasn't had much of a chance to show what he can do. The Vikings...I will concede that they are the only concern, but I think the chances of them taking Quinn are small enough that to me, it's not worth giving up a pick for.

Reason is Jackson had time last year and prooved what? See Coah of Minny forget his name has been reported to like Quinn. But I will admit to much stuff as smoke screens lately so that being said anything is possible.

Also do not put it past Snyder to draft Quinn over Campell. Not saying he will but you never know he is a very weird GM to figure out

I understand what your saying, but I don't really agree with it. Yes, there is a good chance that he will still be there at nine if he was there at six. However, I'm not willing to take a chance that Minnesota takes him. We have had to put up with such awful QB play the past couple years that getting a franchise QB is an absolute must. We have plenty of draft picks this year, and it sounds like Washington is only asking for a 3rd rounder (which if true, is not too high IMO). It might turn out to be a waste of a pick, but I would feel more comfortable if we traded up rather than waiting it out.

Yeah, but my point is, what did they expect out of Jackson last year? They knew he was raw, I don't think they were thinking he was going to go in there and light it up. They must have really soured on him in a hurry if they are really ready to use another high pick on a QB.

You're right though, it is a possibilty. I think the possibility is so small, though, that it doesn't warrant sacrificing a first day pick.

As for the Redskins...I guess anything is possible...but man, that would be shocking.
