Enough with all this "We Gave Fiedler 4 Years!" Crap...

Wow, there's insight. NOT.

He's 27 so he is incapable of having potential.
Is that really your argument?
If he took one year to grow into a starting role he'd be 28 and would have at least 3-4 years to play. I say that because at that point he'd be just as old as Jay who you still want as our starter.

You use an age argument against why AJ can't have potential when your still trumpeting Jay's horn who is in his 30's. Your boy Jay was given his start, based on what the team thought was his potential at the same point in his career.

Great argument!

No my argument is I wouldnt have traded a second round draft pick on a guy with potential......... I would of kept my 2nd round draft pick, and drafted a 22 year old QB with "POTENTIAL" that is my arguemnet. I dont care who starts, as long as we win now!!!!! How many more years do you actually think we will keep this defense together, before retirements and cuts?

So you would rather use the 2nd round pick any of these guys that were drafted during or after the 2nd round? All of the guys listed had POTENTIAL - but only a handful have stuck in the NFL. Which one do you want? With the exception of Tom Brady, I would take A.J. Feeley over any of them!

I would of used the 1st rounder....possibly top 5 pick on a QB, and draft a running back or o-line with my 2nd.
Lets just say the season ended today .....
Draft we would have.
2nd pick (rd1)
34th (rd2) traded to philly
66th (rd3)
79th (rd3) traded to St.louis
98th (rd4)

we could of had 5 picks in th3e top 100, instead we have 3 and no 2nd rounder. W/o those trades we could of had a top tier QB, with potential, and a top running back or o-line.

Well, the season doesn't end today, so you will have to wait. I doubt that by the end of the season that we will have the second pick overall.

Hell, if the Chargers knew the Ryan Leaf was going to be a bum, they wouldn't have drafted him.

I would actually take Marc Bulger, Drew Brees, and Quincy Carter over AJ, but thats just me.

Quincy Carter was available - we did not want him!

I think that was in part due to Ricky's drug thing and them not wanting to take in another player with a supposed problem.

Feildler lovers / supporters are ok with never having a chance for the playoffs or in the playoffs. Get real Feilder fans. Anybody could have done what he did with the team we had the last four years. He will never take any team to the superbowl EVER! EVER!

That's what Tampa Bay fans would have told you about Trent Dilfer, too.

For that matter, should we have replaced Dan Marino in 1985? He didn't get us to any more Super Bowls. Is it really that much more palatable to have a guy who looks good not getting the job done? I know you all lament that we didn't have this D with Dan in his prime, but that is frankly beyond reality in the salary cap age anyway...
