OK....first off, i did hate WANNY and spielman, and yes i didnt like his play calling, and of course he is no saban, but....honestly i was thinking...that with wanny we went 11-5, 9-7, 10-6 and yes 4-12 ( MIND YOU your best player "ricky" quit on you a month before the season started...) I am not PRO wanstedt or anything i am saying its been more than a year since the man left and if u think about it we were a SOLID football team for his entire tenure here....I LOVE SABAN AND THINK HE WILL TAKE US TO THE PROMISE LAND...AND I AM SURE WANNY COULD HAVE NEVER DONE IT....BUT give the man a break...honestly JJ did a worse job with the phins than he did, so back off the poor guy...

Jamar Fletcher or Brees?

The whole coaching staff says Brees. They might be wrong and I need a nickel back in the first round.
 
Yeah, enough of Wanny, it's bad enough he is killing Pittsburgh. Are high school teams looking for a coach.....oh sorry!

I am not backing his coaching style, but he actually has a top 10 recruiting class coming into Pitt, it might even be top 5. Now what he does with those players is another question. But as of right now, he has that program going in the right direction. As much as I hate to admit that about PITT:fire: , being a UCONN fan and all.
 
Man we had super bowl talent ecspecially in 02..and that jerkoff missed the playoffs!!! He is a blackmark in this franchises history and his drafting/personell decisions were a joke!!

He was a nice guy but a terrible coach!! Some guys sjould just stick to coordinating.:shakeno:
 
Who cares, I'm getting so pissed off with the amount of Waanstedt posts every week.

Why are you still posting about him? He is 18 months removed as our head coach, Saban has basically turned the whole list over. WHO CARES.

I don't think it matters how much talent he gets in there...he'll still manage to get nothing out of them. Remember this year he had like 18 starters back from a bowl winner and they stank out loud.

Because his "lack" of coaching ability cost us some postseason appearences and a SB shot!! Sorry but him and Ray Lucas cost us BIG!!! Hard to let that go, even though things are looking up now.

I like the "lets move on" perspective but I just feel we were robbed of glory because of his tenure.

do you just post to boost your numbers?? or do you ever back up your very short statements?? killing pitt?? he walked into a program on the downfall. who couldnt recruit to save its life. especially losing out on the studs that come out of the pittsburgh area. which there are a lot of qulaity blue chips in the area. wanny came into a team who was ranked in the top 25 pre season, and was HIGHLY overrated. he lost is qb from last year, and didnt really have a quality team. they went 5-6 and had a all around bad year. and he came out and returned them to a recruiting facility. finishing at 11 in the country. better the the UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI. thats something to brag about. and is gettin the local big timers. he is going to do good for that school.

The problem wasn't his coaching ability. He was actually a good "X's and O's" guy.

The problem was with his personnel decisions, like Fletcher instead of Brees, or Moore instead of Boldin, and in his inability to enforce discipline on the team.

This is true, but you have to remember Wanny's division title was in his first year, when he still had most of JJ's players. As the years went on, the team made no progress, and actually regressed talent wise.

Haven't seen to many Wanny posts lately but, since you bring it up, he sucked. JJ too, but Wanny just really sucked. He slowly sucked the life out of this franchise and luckily Saban has begun to breathe the life back into it.
