As the season starts and Ricky begins his multi game suspension, and Ronnie is too far behind the rest of the team per the hold-out....Lamar Gordon seems to be in a position to make or break himself, provided he makes the team. So I'm wondering, if he does...will he run his butt off to showcase his ability for future consideration in terms of a trade deal or will he simply be in the mindset....forget the R&R show...I'm the feature back. His opportunity is definately there, is he smart enough to realize this?

ronnie will be fine for the opener. its still almost a month away.

Ronnie will start. However, if for some reason he can't, Morris would start in front of Gordon.

...and then you can exit him right when you're done with that because he's frieking garbage.
Another one of Spielman's desperation grasp, RS burnt the phins worse than WANNY. I m so glad Saban canned his sorry arse!

Lamar Gordon hasn't played well since getting a chance to become the featured back. He was a better back in SL when he knew Faulk was ahead of him and nothing he could do would change that.

Ronniw will start, and if not, minor or morris will

Minor will not start. I don't know if he will be cut or not, but he has never shown any ability at all as a starter, and has only been effective if he is used as a chang of pace back who can occasionally break one. He hasn't looked fast at all recently, which makes me doubt he can even be effective in that role.

..I may be in the minority, but I was impressed with Sammy Morris last year..and I think he's a pretty good back..Light years better than Gordon IMO:D

If it comes down to having Gordon start the first game or playing the whole game with only an H-Back, a TE, and three WR, I'd have to lean toward going without a RB.

Ronnie Brown will be fine. He might not be comfortable with the whole playbook, but he'll know enough to play most of the game. Sammy will be right there to back him up.

Lest anybody think Gordon is an option, all they need to do is look at the stats from the last preseason game.

Exactly, Morris is much better than Gordon right now.

- The guy run so upright , lacks any cutting ability and doesn't hit the hole hard. I know he's coming off of an injury and the very brief look we had of him he looked servicable at best.

- To be honest , if we hadn't burnt off a 3rd for him , I'm not sure I would know who your talking about.

No one says Lamar doesn't give it his all. But like myself and many others, we could go out there and give it our all as well but just plain aren't skilled enough.

We had a smilar thread about Gordon today. Ill say it again....IMO Minor has more value to our team then Gordon does. Im hoping our rbs will be Brown, Williams, Morris and Minor. We have depth as far as big backs who can run. I just dont see what KayJay or Lamar bring to our team other than potential. We need solid, proven, versatile backups that can contribute on special teams or whatever is asked of them. If we were basing it on potential, well then that would be a whole other issue. Now as far as who goes and who stays?? Your guess is as good as mine.
