I was under the impression for a while that we still had G Alonzo Ephraim, who made starting appearences towards the end of the year last season. But accodrding to Foxsports.com's page on the Dolphins, Ephraim was not tendered a contract as a restricted free agent and as of now is an unrestricted free agent. I thought he was no starter but was a solid backup interior lineman.

No, he's not with the team. I liked him, too. Problem, he caused quite a few unnecessary penalties.

That is a No-No in Sbanland -- no wonder he's gone

He is gone. He wasn't really needed with Wade Smith healthy.

Ephraim was brought in as a Center, but you're correct- he did play guard last season. I think the coaching staff is confident in Joe Berger, with one year of learning under his belt, as well as Toledo, Smith and even Carey (if necessary, and with the new depth at tackle) to play inside.

Given he was cut in February and has not signed elsewhere, I believe, one wonders if something else is alos going on??? excess penelties we know about but .....................

He was a bad starter, which makes him not a good backup. He won't be missed, I believe there are 12 guys on the roster that are better OL than him.
