Eric Mangini

This is purely a question, not second guessing you in any way, but how has Ross dismantled this organisation? The 'regime' that is in place now was in place BEFORE he was full owner, no?

You shut your mouth with truth and logic! It has no place here. Ross screwed up Harbaughgate, but other then that he has given these clowns total control! Well come to think if it that did screw us.

I heard the same interview. Troy specifically asked Hank what position Ross was talking to Mangini about. Hank was clear that is was about coaching. I immediately threw up in my mouth. PLEASE do not let this be true.

When the topic shifted to our Fins, he said that Ross has been talking to Eric Mangini, and that he thinks Ross' hand has been forced with last night's performance. But Eric Mangini? Seriously? Does Ross want a stadium full of empty seats? This is the guy who is going to turn things around for us? How'd that work in Cleveland or New York? Didn't Mangini's players quit on him before?

No,non,nyet,nein!!!!!!

Or for holding back Ireland from pulling the trigger on an Orton deal. It's entertaining how through the revisionist looking glass of cyberspace some delusionals can parse their way into being self-anointed "realists" eh?

Yup. If anything, I am a lot more optimistic about Ross now than I was when he bought the team. Tried hard to get Harbaugh... a guy who is a legit good coach. Told Ireland to save the draft picks and not bring in a mediocre QB just to try to sell tickets for a few games. Has his sources telling reporters that he wants a star QB and pedigree coach. Let's give the guy a chance and see what happens this offseason when he takes the gloves off.

I have to admit this Mangini talk ruined my lunch break. I kept thinking how horrible of a hire this would be. Amazing that yesterday we are talking Cowher, Gruden and Fisher and today there is a report that Ross is talking with Mangini about taking the job. When people say it can't get worse than Sparano, guess what, it can. His name is Mangini. :(

I would rather watch a corpse decompose than watch that idiot on our sideline.

Though I'm the one who posted the OP, I will say let's just take this with a grain of salt for now. I'm not in favor of it either, but so far it was just something that Goldberg said and not something that is being discussed nationally. If NFL Network or ESPN start talking, then I think we need to lend it some credence. For now, I'm not going to overreact. It was just something I heard on the radio for now..nothing more.

problem is Hank Goldberg is an excellent reporter who has broken most of the big Dolphins stories throughout the years. He had us hiring Nick Saban 2 months before it went down.

I understand we need to take this with a grain of salt, but this is a heart stopping type of rumor. Even if it is just a 1% chance of happening, it is still 1% to much.

I didn't hear the interview and I am not sure if it is online or not(if it is, do you have a link?). However, did Hank make it seem like he thought this was going to happen? Did he have some inside information, or was this purely speculation? Mangini does not mesh with the Miami Herald report that Ross wants a superstar head coach.

Salguero just wrote that Mangini is being consulted but is absolutely NOT being considered for HC.

That is a big relief. Still a little troubling that Ross is consulting with Mangini on a regular basis. Unless Mangini says "Hire Cowher", I don't know if I want him giving input to Ross. With that said, I wouldn't mind Mangini as a secondary or even a DC under the new head coach.

If Ross's sounding boards are Carl Peterson and Eric Mangini... we're gonna end up with Herm Edwards.
