Eric Mangini

Mangina is a micromanaging freak who the players couldn't stand to play for. Why would we even consult with that goofball??!!! Isn't there anyone else we can consult with who would actually know something??!!!

Ross is a fricken idiot, until he proves to us otherwise

Wow how bad can things get.................

I heard the same interview. Troy specifically asked Hank what position Ross was talking to Mangini about. Hank was clear that is was about coaching. I immediately threw up in my mouth. PLEASE do not let this be true.

If he does this for next season I am done.

But........

Is there a chance he didn't learn a lesson ? Is he talking to Mangini as an interim coach perhaps ? Therein putting his present coach out to dry yet again ? If he does this and then doesn't hire Mangini (just as caretaker) this guy really doesn't get it, and is just totally clueless.

Right.. so much bull**** goes on with this team that it's easy to forget some. We have brought in Mangini as some kind of adviser before. What a ****ing nightmare.

If Ross's sounding boards are Carl Peterson and Eric Mangini... we're gonna end up with Herm Edwards.

Shut the freak up...........NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

Herm Edwards ???????????????????? Another dolt that ran two franchises into the ground.......OMFG I will so stop being a DolFan.......

I'm really starting to believe in the "Ross is ruining the franchise, to move them to LA theory". We rebuffed his attempts to get money for his stadium, so he hatched a plan to ruin the fanbase here so he has reason to move them to LA.

Tin foil hat type of theory, but with every report of a Mangini or Edwards consulting, I am starting to get paranoid that it could be true......

right after last season he was here " consulting" while Tony was hung out to dry and Ross flew across country to "not offer" the job to Harbaugh.

Soliciting football counsel from Mangini is akin to navigating your way through unfamiliar Hong Kong back streets with Stevie Wonder as your map reader. :idk:

I'm curious. I'm not supporting Eric Mangini in anyway. He's a good coach, but he needs to be humbled before he gets another chance. The question I have is this. If Herman Edwards ran the Jets into the ground, how did Eric Mangini do so since he took over a team that was run into the ground by Herman Edwards?

With Peterson, I'm indifferent. The guy did a great job in Kansas City for the first 15 years of his career there. It was his last 5 that caused his downfall, but even then, he still drafted Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Flowers, Branden Albert, Tamba Hali, and Derrick Johnson who were the key players in Kansas City's surprise season last year and are probably the reason they are showing some competitiveness after starting so poorly this year. When Peterson took over the Chiefs, they were a doormat in the NFL. I think they had one winning season in the 18 years prior to him coming on board. He came on board in 1989, and his first draft pick was Derrick Thomas. Through the '90s, the Chiefs were the winningest franchise in the NFL. Under his watch, the Chiefs sold out something like 149 straight games in a stadium that had the largest capacity in the NFL at that time.

If anything, he is a solid football man who is great on the marketing aspects of a franchise. I don't think many would quibble much if he took over as the "Football Czar" (I hate that term) and hired someone like Richard Ball, whom he has worked with in the past, to run the show as the GM.

If Ross is a smart businessman, he will wait for the season to be over and interview several coaches. Mangini is not the hot commodity that Harbaugh was.

Insiders close to Ross (aka Mike Dee) already got the word out that Ross wants a star QB and a star coach. It's not going to be Mangini. Have some faith, guys. Here comes the sun...

have we forgotten history ? Initially Mangini had success, even led to his appearances on several TV shows like The Sapranos. Then it all went south rather fast. Sound familiar to a coach we have now ???

As for Petersen, I am not a fan, and would have been pulling my hair out if this had been talked about two years ago, but with the depths we have fallen, why not ? a few more years of top 5 picks could get a us a great run by 2018 or 2019.
