Eric Mangini

Carl Peterson will be the GM and Eric Mangini will be the head coach. These are the facts.
 
I gotta be careful how I say this.......but after suffering through Parcells, Tony, Pasqualoni, Bonemego, DeGuglielmi, (and I guess now the nepotism beneficiary Tony Jr) just say no to any recycled paisanos for awhile including Mangini! (sorry no offense mom..)
 
Armando did say that Ross wants a "star" head coach. But also said he wants a coach that has done this before and wouldn't be learning on the job. Gulp, Mangini does fall under the category of doing it before. Also, what is Ross' definition of "star"?

Judging by the "celebrities" that walk the orange carpet, Mangini may indeed meet his definition of a star. Good catch, Nubs!
 
ah, every 2 days its a new coach. mangini, cowher, gruden. none of these media ppl know anything. lets see what happens. some ppl are saying hes going for a huge splash, others saying he is going for the likes of mangini. If ross didnt want Orton, i doubt ross wants mangini. he did court harbaugh, so maybe he will go after a young up and comer which is what i want.
 
I agree that Ross' version of a star is yet to be determined, so who he eventually picks might leave us all angry. I have not been fond of most, if not all, of his decisions thus far, so I am holding back on expectations for now. After last night, I half expect a statement from Ross that our pass rush is now the priority going into the next draft. I really don't care for him as an owner.

With Peterson, I'm indifferent. The guy did a great job in Kansas City for the first 15 years of his career there. It was his last 5 that caused his downfall, but even then, he still drafted Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Flowers, Branden Albert, Tamba Hali, and Derrick Johnson who were the key players in Kansas City's surprise season last year and are probably the reason they are showing some competitiveness after starting so poorly this year. When Peterson took over the Chiefs, they were a doormat in the NFL. I think they had one winning season in the 18 years prior to him coming on board. He came on board in 1989, and his first draft pick was Derrick Thomas. Through the '90s, the Chiefs were the winningest franchise in the NFL. Under his watch, the Chiefs sold out something like 149 straight games in a stadium that had the largest capacity in the NFL at that time.

If anything, he is a solid football man who is great on the marketing aspects of a franchise. I don't think many would quibble much if he took over as the "Football Czar" (I hate that term) and hired someone like Richard Ball, whom he has worked with in the past, to run the show as the GM.

imo you can take gini find a team besides miami and go pull for them as for miami i want Cowher ,Gruden,or Fisher here somebody i know isnt going to run our team in the ground and put fans bk in there seat.soooo seeeeeeeeee yaaaaaaaaaa.

The REAL question(s) here is(are):

Does Ross realize that just because Tony SOPRANO called him Mangenius doesnt make it so? Also that Soprano is just a TV character and not a real one...even on TV he's a mobster and not a football guy.

(actually Arty called him that but whatever)

Mangini? hahahahaha....Oh wow, where does one start to even try to justify signing him on to be anyone's coach? He would not even qualify to coach an all girls Pop Warner team let alone a Professional NFL Team.
