Looks like the Chargers are releasing Eric Parker. Solid speed, good hands, nice #3 for a team lacking WR depth. I like him better than Glenn or Matt Jones if they become available. I could see him battling with Wilford for #2 if he learns the system fast enough.

Ok?

But i dont think we're going to see the bridge from San Diego to Miami being crossed by players and personnel any more. Not with how poorly it's worked out for the Dolphins. Had Cameron still been here maybe, but he's gone, and thankfully so is Cleo Lemon.

Yea, back to being the dolphins now.l

He's hurt, isnt that why he's being released?

But in addition to the injury, Parker has become expendable because of the arrival of Chris Chambers and development of the team's young receivers and punt returners. Behind No. 1 punt returner Darren Sproles, the Chargers have Buster Davis, Antoine Cason, Chambers, Antonio Cromartie, Eric Weddle and others.

Yeah, they've got a lot of depth at WR and KR/PR. Parker would be a nice addition, for depth if nothing else. And he's a lot safer then a guy like David Kircus.

I actually dis-agree. I would take Jones over Parker because of two reasons. 1) age. 2) size.

We have plenty of slot receiver type guys, small fast, quick, like Parker. We don't really have that big red zone target though. Wilford isn't a small guy, and neither is Hagan. But neither of those guys are exactly 6'4.

Jones over Parker? Only if Parker is not healthy. Parker is a hard worker whereas Jones, by all accounts, is not.
Ernest Wilford is 6'4" so he can be used as a red zone target.

good moring guys , I think this Parker kid if he is healthy we should at least look at him. Hell we havent even really address the wr corp and I saw saw where bowman is working hard to regain respect and is catching a lot of passes . I say we should bring in 3 or 4 wrs and beef up the compitiion .

on a side note , I am disapointed that there are not any cb's on the open market as well. I thought one of you guys said kc was cutting patrick surtain ?

oh well I am just bored , hurry up football season.

sorry for hijacking the thread but i cant beleive we didnt trade for a really good wide receiver.

SD's WR's are not that good I'm sorry. Chambers is beyond overrated. IF they cut Parker why the heck would we want him here and for someone to suggest he could be our #2 or #3 is ridiculous. The guy is getting cut from an avg WR corp and you want him here. We need to upgrade with starters not avg joe's. IF a guy is getting cut BEFORE camp obviously there is a pretty good reason so people should stop threading to pick everyone up. REBUILD means bring in youth for the future not avg never was guys.

what happened to the coaching staff saying hagan looked "sharp"

looks like he will be the 3rd WR option

Yeah Parker's not bad, but I don't think he could oust Hagan or Bess as a WR3. I like Jones too, and last year thought he was going to have a monster year, but he disappointed me. Of the 3 you mentioned, I think the only one who could push for a starting WR spot is Glenn (and that's only if he's 100% healthy).

You guys may not agree, but I like our WR core. I think w/a more experienced QB & a bigger, better O-line our passing game will be a lot better. Not to mention a better running game to keep the "D" honest. We've got speed - Ginn, size - Wilford & slant - Bess. Plus we've got Hagan (3rd year breakout), who's impressed in camp so far. I know we all wish Welker was never traded, but that's in the past & IMHO I believe we've got a decent / improved WR core this year.

Go Fins!
