Eric Winston on WQAM

Don't be shocked if we still take a RT even if we sign Winston, our logic would be that it's great to take Reiff, a RT and move him to G, at #8.

I'd take Decastro over Reiff if we are looking for a guard. Reiff would however be insurance if Long or Winston went down and still would most likely be a really good guard.

However Decastro is said to be the best o-lineman in the draft, because he's an interior lineman is the only reason why he isn't valued so high.

I do not expect us to sign Winston as Miami is a bargain basement club.

We'll have the most mediocre Oline in football and no money left over to sign skill positions :rolleyes2:. WTH is going on in Miami

Hopefully we played up his personal ties to the area like crazy during his visit. Even if we did I can't see any reason for him to pick the Dolphins. We can't afford to pay him as much as another team(assuming we plan to add to our WR core and add a starting QB), and this isnt a win now situation where he will come in and immediately be on a playoff contender(assuming we don't get manning).

All that said, if we sign him I'd be walking around with a football boner for a few days.

What does that have to do with anything ? He was DRAFTED by the Texans and this is the first time he is an unrestricted free agent where he can freely go to a team on his terms

And Winston seems like a sharp guy, he knows Matt Moore isn't close to half the QB Schaub is

Obviously having a very good QB is very important to him. It's not rocket science if you listened

when is the last time the dolphins won a playoff game again ?? or had anything resembling a very good QB ??? Matt fukking Moore is our selling point to free agents

Matt fukkin moore

What more do you need to know

.....And Miami is not going to upgrade from Matt Moore one way or the other? Like you said, Winston is a sharp guy, he will see the big picture, feel out the coaching staff to see if they have a plan, and if they can succeed in that plan. Winston is as good as here, unless the staff are not as high on him as they should be, and blow it.

It would be a nice pickup. Like I've always said, for the most part, the OL is the most intelligent on the field.

When the new coach looked at film of our first 7 games he saw a turnstile at right tackle and a #1 reciever drop at least 6 touchdown passes. I would replace those guys immediately. Get Winston and draft a reciever first thing.
Now go get your QB Flynn or whomever they like in the draft.

Its quite simple really.. Ross.. Ross is a bad businessman is does not understand that reinvesting money in something that can create you more money is how businesses succeed. Unfortunately Ross's business model is to make one big [media] splash pulling the wool over the fans eyes by making us thinkk he is doing something, then with the rest of his money, he signs crap and bargain basement dwellers, thus putting all the profits into his pocket. If he were a smart businessman he would realize that if he spent on quality players, he would make even more money. I dont know how he continues to be a billionaire but one thing is most likely, and that is he was either born into his money, or had someone else make it for him.. As I said before and got flamed for (although dont give a ****), Ross is one of the top 3-5 worst owners in the league.. and some of fans thought Wayne was bad! Pfft

Ross is a bad "lot of things". Bad business man is not on that list. I do agree about being a bad team owner though.

See I disagree, the NFL is a business and it is no secret he is losing money at a tremendous rate.

i'm sure the holdup on this one being done is money and us not meeting his price yet...if he gets less than 5 years and $30 mil i'll be pretty shocked...i like what we've done today if we can't get peyton keeping solia on a pretty cap friendly deal and adding a richard marshall to the db group and if we can get winston done at right tackle we should be good there but barring us making a splash at qb most of this stuff won't add up to many more checks in the win column...and the addition by subtraction at wr still baffles me...lose a key piece and don't come close to replacing it is just a head scratcher for me...although i am glad we haven't overpaid any of these quite overrated in free agency wrs we've been kicking the tires on of late

You think Stephen Ross is a bad businessman? Really? Bad owner maybe, but come on now...

Yep, if the Marshall trade never happened I mean you could say Miami has done well had they picked up Winston and Marshall while resigning Soliai and wen't with Flynn/Manning. Could have gone in any direction in this draft. Now it feels like we will go WR real early.

Oh well

b/t i still think flynn is very much in play for us...in fact i still think he ends up coming here...i think if the moneys close he'll go with the more familiar setting ie joe philbin...

in the event that does happen one has to think pass rusher and wr become major draft focuses for us and early ones at that...
