Erik Ainge Video

I went to UT so I saw a decent amount of Ainge. He has a good arm with decent accuracy. Pretty much like Henne in the pocket and mobility wise. He was a decent decision maker. He could be good in the right situation. I don't see him being a probowler without a lot of talent around him.

i watched him meltdown in his last game, the kid choked under pressure and was completely responsible for their bowl loss. no thank you. i'll take John david booty over him any day.

You must have Ainge confused with someone else. He played great in Tennessee's bowl WIN, throwing for 350+ yards, 2 TDs and no INTs.

He's certainly worth a look in the 4th-6th rounds if we don't pick a QB earlier.

I like this guy he has a pretty strong arm looks pretty good hope we draft him in the 4th or lower.

I agree! I've been saying for some time now that I think he would be worth a late, late rd. shot, later than 4th. He seems to have a style that would translate well to the NFL. I don't watch Tenn. much so I don't know what the deal was there, but I also remember he took real well to Martz's coaching in the senior bowl to lead them to a win. I know that's just 1 game, but it's just a hunch I get. Definitely worth a late rounder. I don't want to spend any other picks on a QB this year because we have so many other holes to fill.

this is what kirwan said about him:

Ainge was a late addition to the Senior Bowl when Ryan and Brohm both turned down the invitation to play. He did not distinguish himself during the week in Mobile, Ala. I did watch enough Tennessee tape to believe he is better than his all-star game performance. He knows who to throw to, but he doesn't snap the ball off which some would think was a function of a broken finger on his throwing hand in 2007. He rarely creates with his feet, and will be an easy target for NFL defenses to attack. He reminds me of Kerry Collins and Drew Bledsoe in the pocket, but doesn't have their arm or quick decision-making skills. Ainge may be a multiple-year backup in the NFL, and could take sacks like David Carr if he has to play
