Does anyone think he'll get a chance to start as a LB? I really like this guy. He seems to be a physical freak, a viscious hitter, and has a really high motor. I really hope he can play more than ST for us this coming season.

If anyone could find some of his hits on kickoff coverage, that would be great, because those were MEAN!

Here's a small pro day video I found of him, it doesen't mean anything at this point but hey, something to watch.

I know Sparano mentioned him when talking about our pass rush, so maybe that is a hint that he will be in on some blitz packages. I really like him as well, I can re-call a monster hit he made coming from the the other side of the field on a kick-off and just leveling a guy.

i really like him to i dont know how he would be in our D but i really likehim on ST

Yeah, I think there can be more to Erik Walden than Special Teams. Sure, I would love too see him in some blitz packages.

I think anyone who excels on special teams will be given a fair shot to contribute in another phase. Just seems like this regime appreciates a nose to the grindstone type player, like Bess.

On his draft report, there was a note that if he made it to the NFL, they viewed him as a pass rushing OLB in a 3-4 defense .. hm, I wonder where he could possibly become one of those?

E.Walden will make the team for his special teams play alone. The guy is a special teams demon. The special teams unit improved greatly when he was signed during the season.I am sure the coaches will take their time with him developing his play as a LB.

Apparently Brandon London called Walden as the player most likely to break out in 2009.

The link also has a bunch of other info on Walden. He has potential.

I really, really hope he does. He seems like the perfect kind of guy you'd want playing LB for this team. He never gives up on plays, he has a nose for the ball, he has a high motor, he's very humble .. the last LB we had with all that was ZT

He may be moved to ILB in order to keep him on the roster for ST's purposes.

With only Torbor backing up Crowder and Ayodele there is a LB position open on the inside. Providing, of course he beats out all the other guys like Kershaw and Tearius George and whoever they pickup in April.

The Dolphins deserve to get lucky in a few places. With the cheaters getting 4 comp picks and two of them 3rd rounders, the Dolphins need to get lucky.

Maybe a guy like Walden can be one of those guys and move to ILB and royally kick butt.

We need something.

I know........and Joey Thomas will become a shut down CB this year and Todd Lowber begins to play like Jerry Rice, only faster.

Once upon a time there was a USA hockey team and yada yada yada, and they all lived happily ever after.

Sometimes fairy tales come true.

We got Cameron Wake for that

hopefully we did but who knows if Wake will work out, he is certainly a hard enough worker so I bet he makes it might struggle at first

While I dont think he will start, i do think he will play a large role in the defensive rotation. I love the kid!
