ernest wilford blames lack of opportunity for poor season

I can't even describe how stupid the move was to bring that guy in. Especially with the contract we gave him. We bit on a guy who was a marginal WR who had a good contract year season but other than that has been insignificant in his NFL career. He has size, but that's it. Now we're stuck with him.

Led the Jaguars with 45 catches in the 2007 season, and had 141 catches and 14 touchdowns over his four years with the team.
I don't know.. the guy makes plays for the jags.. now suddenly can't catch a cold?

I think he got stiffed too... regardless of his perceived 'talent' or lack there of.. There were plenty of times we could've used his big body as a receiver.

Didn't he get a false start on Sunday?
(I guess it was London?)...
What are the odds that he returns next season, 1 in a 1,000,000,000,000,000?

i'm sre he'll be gone this offseason.

I hope.....

I hated the move when we signed him, after doing NOTHING in the pre-season and regular season to merit even SEEING the field over such Dolphins STANDOUTS as Derek Hagan i am even more angry that we signed this guy.

I was surprised he was even active for that game. What are the odds that he returns next season, 1 in a 1,000,000,000,000,000?

No, he wasn't active...I think they meant 19 or 17 or 15 when they called that false start on #18. Probably 19...

From the way Sparano was protecting him during pressers over the course of the season, I was under the impression he was dealing with some personal issues over the season (mental health - maybe depression/anxiety, or some serious family stuff), but his comments now make that seem less likely.

As horrible of a contract that was, it was actually smart. $7 million out of the $13 total million was for this year, so he becomes an easy cut. We would only be swalloing about $1.5 million for each of the next three years, which sounds like a lot, but for a horrible bust like that, isn't too much of a price to hinder our salary cap.

141 catches in 4 years is only 35 a year and he had actually got worse each year since his best season in 2005. He's nothing special.

good riddance Ernest, we should have signed Bryant Johnson anyway.

The guys a complete joker. That's all that really needs to be said.

i say lets give him an opportunity to play somewhere else.
