What's the deal here?!

As far as i could see last night, he wasn't involved at all. After the excitement by a lot of people on here when we signed him up, as some saw him as a redzone threat due to his height and good hands, what's gone wrong?!

It seems to me, unless he was unable to play last night for some reason, this guy is in danger of being cut?! I appreciate we have some cap room, but if young guys like Armstrong are getting gametime before a vet like Wilford, his days could be numbered here already....

IMO, i think we should keep him on after the roster cuts because he's different to our other WR core with his height. Surely he can come good for our Fins and justify the FO decision to get him.

Thoughts?!

I hate to say it but he might be cut, I mean What has He Done, nothing so why do we need him??????????

Don't think he will be cut. Probably just keeping him in reserve so they can test the rookies right now. As I remember he was supposed too have great hands but not great speed.

If nothing else we can bring him in when we're inside the redzone... but other than that, I'm not seeing much...

I would not be surprised if they cut him. The money is spent, and our salary cap room is seems fairly spacious, nor are we paying a lot to the other guys.

I Am not saying that he is definitely out, but it should not shock anyone if he is cut.

A lot of times player's contracts are rigged with things called contengencies, meaning if he does not make the roster, he does not get paid. All he can do is keep the signing bonus, which shouldn't have been much to begin with. Not sure if Wilford's contract is arranged in such a manner, but I would imagine so.

They won't cut him. Despite being invisible during preseason and TC, he got too much money and still is probably the 3rd best receiver on the team. Sure Bess, Armstrong, Camarillo have got time and looked good at times during the preseason, but none of them match up to Wilford, YET.

He will be the #3 behind Ginn and Hagan.

then why isnt he playing?

he's a bust of a signing.....if he was worthwhile, and the 3rd best receiver, he'd be doing something, and he's not

awful signing

I don't think he just went from being a consistent 40 catch receiver over the pas three seasons to one of the worst receivers in the league. He has been a disappointment no doubt, but I think the coaches realize that he actually has some talent. Armstrong, Bess and Camarillo have been playing well so far this preseason, but they have not done anything close in this league as Wilford has done.

I highly doubt Sparano is going to throw Wilford to the curb because of a bad TC and go with a guy who either hasn't played a real NFL down, an AFL receiver or a guy famous for one catch.

Wilford probably didn't deserve the money he got, and has been invisible, but I still think he is going to be a good red zone threat for this team. You get rid of him and the depth at WR is VERY scary.
