On ESPN earlier they were talking about AJ and Jay. They said Jay should start because of his record as a starter. They went on to say Feeley shouldn't start because he has no starting experience. That's their ONLY argument. It's obvious they don't watch Dolphin games. Fielder's record is miss leading.

It is misleading. I've always supported Jay but after his performance in the first half on Saturday, and seeing AJ throw the ball...AJ should be the starter..no question about it. They'll be watching the Dolphins on Sunday though!

Feeley is the future of the Miami Dolphins and it is always better to throw the "unexperienced" players onto the field so they get the experience so they can succeed sooner rather then later. Also, an unexperienced Feeley is looking like a better choice then the ageing Fiedler. I really liked what I saw of Feeley against the Titans no matter what people say. Feeley will be a star down the road.

I like Jay's heart and tenacity, but I think the defense may have helped his record a bit.

what it really is that they dont want feeley to succeed cus then they would have to give credit to people they dont want to give credit for.

I will always take a player with more heart, but the problem with that is there is only so far someone can go on heart. Eventually you will fall short. I am an admitted fiedler basher, i hate him, mostly because i loved dan so much and i hated that he was the one along with wanny who ran him out of town. But back to my original point. I love that Jay gave100% all the time, but his effort although 100% of what he could give fell short by NFL standards. Its time for a new regime - a change - watching feeley's release (although it was on tape delay{still bitter}) reminds me of # 13 . Not mobile but who needs to be mobile when you can step up and release. Mobility is overrated anyway - everytime jay tried to to throw on the run he was intercepeted or it was over or under thrown. So lets open our eyes and our hearts and lets start cheering for A.J. No matter what happens, he is our future.

you got to fight to get some love from these talking heads. the second feely starts winnin games, they'll change their tune. happens every time.

I think this misleading argument is misleading. Would Jay's record be worse if he had a D like the Chiefs had on the team? Yes. Would the Chiefs have gone with Jay as their QB? No. They wanted a high powered O featuring a deadly TE and RB, so that's what they have. In the cap era, every team has roughly the same resources. Having Jay as the QB gives you an advantage because you can afford a D like the one we have.

Beyond that argument, look at how Griese and Lucas did with the same D. If Jay wasn't an important part of what was going on, any warm body would have done.

As to ESPN, I disagree with them. I know the coaches have seen a hell of a lot more from these guys than anybody else has, and I trust them to choose the better guy to start. It is clear that their judgment about Jay was a very weak one going into week 1 because he got lifted early. I hope their judgment is much more solid about AJ and that he excels so we don't have a QB controversy destroy this team.

Did anyone who criticizes the Dolphins for what they are doing for their QBs actually WATCH the game against the Titans. Or did they at least see some of the throws that both QBs made (the only Feeley throw they had on SportsCenter was the interception which was a horrible throw). I don't think either QB is great. I do think we overpaid for Feeley and I do think he makes some bad decisions (the throw right to Lamont Thompson is a good example of that). However, he has a better arm and at this point he probably gives us the best chance to win. Maybe the morons at ESPN will realize this when they see him play against the Bengals this weekend.

you shouldn't listen to people that only see highlights. the national media don't watch dolphin games and they haven't been following this team since the start of the wanny/fiedler error. they don't know anything.

im not necessarily saying that we will win or lose (although i have confidence we will pull out a win against the bengals), but i have a feeling that after this game, there will be a new conception of the Miami Dolphins offense and our QB situation from ESPN... I believe that ESPN is basically a stat-oriented sports program, that goes on certain highlights that give the ossumption of who the eventual winner is... Now, they have seen many Jay Fiedler wins in the last 4 years, the FO decisions for him to start over numerous other QB's, and the fact that he is full of heart and desire, so i understand that looking at stats would lead them to believe he is the better QB. But, as fans, we watch every down and we know that Jay is full of weaknesses, while AJ has a big, much more talented, upside... I dont necessarily believe its their fault, they were just following the pattern, but i do think that, when you consider yourself an analyst, you should ANALYSE what you are talking about, before you go and write off a team...

I'm getting pretty sick of ESPN's football opinions. I find better ones on this site alone.

Of course not. No one saw the game except for the fans in Miami and tennesse. Who was going to watch it the next day on DirectTV when it was going head to head against live games?

That's why Miami is a 5 point dog in this game. Everyone saw the show Cincinnati and the Jets put on. But no one saw the show our D put on...

Screw ESPN. There's no Dolphin "experts" except the people who watch them week in and week out. We talk about these guys all the time and watch all the games. But ESPN says that Jay should start.... His record shows he should start. Can't any of the "experts" get it through their heads that we won not because of Jay, but in spite of him. No, Jay should start because he's a winner and a "caretaker". This team needs a LOT more than a caretaker at QB these days if they expect to do a damn thing. If Feeley has a great game ESPN will be all over his jock like flies on ****. ESPN is as fickle as it gets.
