ESPN-AFCE team needs (Insider)

but do not copy and paste the info.

I'll summarize.

It said we need to add WR since we will be releasing Boston and Welker is undersized.

We also need DB bc Allen doesnt make enough big plays and Goodman can't stay healthy. Also it mentioned Daniels is better suited as a nickel.

We also need OT bc the article had been written prior to us re-signing (spelt correctly??? ) McIntosh. It basically said that it is imperative that we sign a LT to push Carey to the inside.

OG: ' Hadnot is an overachiever who lacks ideal natural ability and James needs to be more physical at times.' It then went on to say that they are adequate starters but by no means dominant and that there are no players on roster who could push them to strive for improvment.

FS: Big need for us. Schulters is an UFA and is on the downside of his career (didnt look that way last year) and we released Tebucky. ' Yeremiah Bell possesses a good blend of speed and athletic ability, but he has been plagued by injuries and there are concerns about his ability to stay healthy in an every-down role'

Other needs - Linebacker & QB.

And thats it folks.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write a nice summary.

I really disagree with a lot of that. Since when is the slot receiver supposed to be a big possesion guy? In linehan,s system he always used a fast shifty guy in the slot. And it's not like Booker and chambers are small. Booker is 6' and chambers is 5'11" with a huge leap and very long arms... Personally i already think we have that "Big Receiver" with Fred Gibson. At georgia he was the epitome of a posession receiver....

For the D-backs i think we'll be fine. Saban likes to coach talented underacheivers up. He gives them the discipline and cleary defined roles to help them become succesful. Allen definatly falls in that category... I feel confident in Poole, Daniels and Allen. I also feel that Goodman and Hill (and soon cooper) are good depth signings. And if they are depth then there is a much smaller possibility of being injured. Tillman filled in well, and if bell can stay healthy then i think he'll really make a push for a starting spot...

For the guard stuff i agree to an extent. When james was signed he was known as a mauler, but has not shown anything more than average play since aquired. I'm not saying he's bad, but i don't think he's playing to the level that he's being paid.... I do agree with the thinking that there is no competition to push the starting guards. Our back-ups last year were C Alonzo Ephraim and Rookie Joe Berger.... I also think that Hadnot has done an admirable job in rising to the starting spot, and then keeping it. His flexibility helps us out a lot also. He has shown improvement since he has seen the feild. There is no reason to beleive at his point that he has reached the pinacle of his performance....

With all our signings i think that we will pick up a safety in the draft and go into the season with who is currently on the roster. Unless they have trouble with the sytem...then it's bye bye real quick.

Welker may be undersized but he's one hell of a ST player. Why would Saban release him? That would be a waste.

Welker will continue to be an integral part of this team, both on the offense and the ST.

Welker's not going anywhere, no way Saban releases him. too valuable both as WR in possession downs, and still one of the best returners in the NFL.

In Saban We Trust!

The OL needs are overstated. We were 4th in sacks allowed last season, have added LJ Shelton, and lost no one. Run blocking was subpar, but Culpepper coming in will make our passing game dangerous enough to open up running lanes (not to mention it'll make the pass a more important part of our offense).

I think we are more than ok! IMO the secondary will be improved from last year(no offense to Madison,Schulters,Jones), we have added a ton of speed, and these guys are system players that will make plays! The OL, like was said before, we lost nobody and added Shelton, a year of continuity playing together with the coaching of Houck we are a lock to win the divison!!!
