Sean Salibury on ESPN Just said on NFL Live that the Dolphins have no shot at making the playoff in the AFC. Remember this quote and the day when this was said. I hope the Dolphins can make him eat those predictions. Go Phins!!!

Sports writers are like weathermen.

THey have one of the few jobs where you can be consistantly wrong and still keep your job.

Hes right. We don't have a chance. We had a chance if we beat the Bills, but we didn't. We had a chance if we beat the Texans, but we didn't. We had a chance if we beat the Packers, but we didn't. And I bet if we had won those three games, Sean Salisbury wouldn't be so down on the Fins. We are a sub-500 team that has the audacity to talk playoffs. Anyone who is down on us has a reason to be. And if we do make the playoffs, it'll be a very short stay.

Whats the deal with this negativity, this team is 5-6 and resurgent from a 1-6 start. Yes, there are games the Fins should have won, but the Fins are a legitimate playoff team (because we are in the mix for the last playoff spot). I personally am excited with this turn around but I'm not making any bold claims for the playoffs yet because the Fins last 5 games are extremely tough, but this team is a playoff contender and I'm holding out hope until they're literally by the numbers eliminated. I just don't get it how a team can be on a 4 game win streak, turn their season around, and just won a game by 17 points and fans still be putting them down, jeez.

Get used to it. He/She has been doing that since the the beginning of this win streak. He calls himself a fan. Don't get me wrong, anybody can have his own opinion, but when you outright try to ruin the positive aspects of the 4 game win streak, I believe that is just being too negative and trying to bring everyone down. I will not be brought down, I will hope this win streak continues. It will be difficult but not impossible, especially the way the Phins are playing as of late. GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!

Do we have a shot at the playoffs mathematically?

Yes.

Logically, are we LIKELY to make it?

No.

What you're all forgetting is that while it is possible to make it at 9-7, it's very possible the #6 seed might also have to be 10-6 this year. Can you say with complete confidence that we won't lose another game this year? That is tough for ANY team. Even 9-7 would require us to only mis-step once.

Of course it is possible, and I'm sure TampaFinFan, as well as most of the rest of us, is probably content to do what everyone should be doing--watching each game and rooting for the Dolphins, and knowing it would be cool if the stars are aligned right that we might make the playoffs, but not expecting a miracle.

You all can bash whoever you want, but there were very few logical posts in this thread, and TampaFinFan's was one. Might have been a little harsh and not what you wanted to hear, but there's no reason to question anybody's fandom.

I'm not even concerned about playoffs at this point. I'm just content getting to watch us play week in and week out.

It's not negativity. It's realism.

One of us has a better chance of getting struck by lightning or winning the lottery than the Dolphins going 10-6 or 9-7 and all those other teams flop enough for it to happen.

If we were 7-4 or 6-5 and they said we weren't making the playoffs, then I would be upset, but we're not.

If just one of the other teams does well, we're out. One of them could possibly go 11-5 and get the 6th wildcard spot like that.

niners have a better chance at making the playoffs if the dolphins were in the nfc now they would definately have a chance
