How could Brady Quinn win best player of the year but finish 3rd in the heisman? Man the benifits that you get from ND.
 
um, no. look at all the past winners of the maxwell compared to the heisman.

2005: vince young
2003: eli manning
2002: larry johnson
2001: ken dorsey
2000: drew brees
1997: peyton manning
1994: kerry collins

all runner-ups in the heisman race.
 
Im willing to bet that if the heisman wasnt announced til after the National Championship game. Vince young would have won it. Who was more exciting that game, and throughout the season? in my opinion Vince Young

Did you see who buckled in that game? Reggie bush, making bonehead plays like pitching the ball and the other USC player bobbled and fumbled

you could say that just about every year with the heisman. it's awarded for the REGULAR season.

Mcfadden was 2nd place. Quinn finished 3rd. Though you do make a intresting point. Those are solid players right there.

eli manning finished 3rd. drew brees finished 3rd.
 
One could wonder how Posluzsny got Bednardik, but Willis got the Butkus. Different people decide who the awards go to.

You must have missed the regular season. Reggie Bush was/is a better player than Young VERY easily. In my 26 years of living, I'd say there are THREE college football players who stand above the rest:

Rocket Ismail
Desmond Howard
Reggie Bush

Those thee players dominated the games they were involved in. Hell, as you all know I am a die hard Buckeye fan AND cannot stand Desmond Howard, so that's as unbias as you can get.

You realize there are inconsistencies with every award? Didn't Lauranitis win top defensive player but not top linebacker, how can he be the top defender but not best at his position? Go cry about that. Maybe they take character into account for the Maxwell in a way they dont for the Heisman.
 
the awards this year were rigged, it was clear when OU kicker Garret Hartley DID NOT walk away with hardware! :D
