ESPN:Browns to take Thomas, Quinn to be there at 9!!!

Well, I'm not holding my breath but I'm hoping it works out that way......if Quinn is gone I'll be just as happy to draft Ginn at 9 and then take a QB later like Kolb or Beck.

I like it...but I doubt teams would clearly state their intentions like this before the draft. Kind of bold of ESPN to practically guarantee that Cleveland takes Thomas and Minny passes on Quinn
 
I think if Quinn is still available after the Browns pick, then Miami will trade up with the Redskins.

It's already been pretty much set in stone they won't. Not only did they invest a 2nd rounder in Jackson last year, they traded up using two third rounders (Im pretty sure that was it)

They won't give up on him yet, that would be like admitting you made a stupid move for a QB you don't believe in.
 
Minnesota is the wildcard if Quinn makes it by Cleveland. They sound like they are committed to Tarvaris Jackson. But, that could be posturing on their part. Plus, if they are smart, if Cleveland passes on Quinn, Minnesota should make it sound like they are taking Quinn, even if they don't want him. It forces Miami to trade up in front of them, only to take a player they really didn't want, dropping another good player to them.

I disagree.

What if they drafted Jackson thinking he was going to be great, but after working with him for a year realize that he sucks? Its okay to admit that you were wrong. Sometimes people make stupid mistakes and actually realize that they made a stupid mistake and then they move on.

We invested a 2 in Culpepper and all signs point to him being cut. I know that a new regime will be doing the cutting, but still, the Vikes could draft Quinn if they think they were wrong on Jackson.
 
Totally different situations - you never thought Jackson would be a guy that plays and excels immediately. He was and is a project. You dont give up on that after one year.
 
Do not count on anything yet. I just heard on the radio that the browns still might take Quinn. They are saying it all depends on what trades happen if they do before the draft starts.

Of course they're saying that, it would be moronic to announce your intentions and completely destroy the value of your pick.
