No it's not Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, but it's close! Joe Theeesman and Merrill Hoge weigh in on several issues. Neither of which are credible but it's a funny read nonetheless.

I don't think either hit the spot except Hoge was close. Having an effective QB/passing game takes pressure off the running game (and vice versa, it's a symbiotic relationship) by holding defenders for a split second or so. It's one of the most basic mantras/concepts in football yet Theeesman doesn't think it'll help.

Hoge is nowhere close to the idiot as Theisman. Hoge actually understands offensive schemes fairly well and is a good judge.

Yeah he's ok actually. Nobody in the history of sports journalism is as bad as Theeesman (at least it seems that way) but Hoge did kind of miss on the Seattle defensive backs analysis.

Read the Bill Simmons articles on the nba draft--hilarious.

Joe Theisman and Paul McGuire are the two most annoying announcers in history.

It's gotta kill Theisman to know he was fired from Monday Night Football for Tony Kornheiser(sp). Was listening to an interview with someone who was talking about a quick visit to the Monday Football booth during the game and he said you could feel the vide that Theisman hated Tony and that no one could work and perform at your best with that much tension in the booth. So to think your the end all of profoot ball knowledge and to get let go because ESPN choose Tony Kornheiser over you has to sting.

Oh the interview was with Jimmy Kimmell. He might be good in the booth for those who care.

Yea i agree last couple years we havent even used a FB
Cam knows what the position is for. I mean he has had Lorenzo Neal. Can't wait to see what Ronnie can do with a true FB that does his job very well as evident in his Detroit years. He has blocked for Barry Sanders.

ronnie has been productive, he just needs to stay healthy all season long, that is hard for a guy who runs so hard, but we need him to stay healthy

Joey has hated the Fins since we drafted him and told him he'd sit behind Griese. Then he went off to Canada and that was that...

But he's worse as an announcer than he ever was as a player so I wouldn't pay too much homage to anything he says football related...

Theisman really is the worst analyst (if you can call him one), and that's saying something considering it's ESPN

To be honest, I really don't like either one's analysis. My take is ... it's not going to matter who we have back there until we can field an offensive line that will open holes in the running game and give the QB time in the passing game. Nor will it matter if we don't have receivers that will consistently make plays that will force the opposing defense to take the passing game seriously. Nor will it matter if we don't have a coaching staff that will put the players in the best position to succeed and call the plays that allows them to succeed. Now, with that said, I think we are well on our way to making Brown better, but IMO it has much less to do with Trent Green than it does with the other points.
