ESPN - Daniel Thomas To Play Thursday Night

Don't even care. I believe we have better talent than him and miller with D-2, Darkwa, and Knowsean. (I don't know how to spell his name)

I know this won't be popular, but I think Thomas sticks around on the final 53. I think Thigpen gets traded/released and Darkwa goes to the PS.

This franchise has a history of making buffoon'ish decision that elude common sense. With that being said I completely see your prediction coming through. If it does Philbin can kiss his job goodbye because he wont be winning any more games than last season.

WOW this may just be the first time i did not agree with you Nubs!!
i think Hickey will be putting his stamp on this team and it will show again on sunday.

Unfortunately he's a known commodity for us. The die is cast, and with Moreno and Williams coming up big, that train has left the station.

IMO, Hickey is hoping that Thomas can excel against future UPS drivers so he can salvage some sort of trade leverage if more than one team is interested instead of just releasing him. It's a prudent business decision cuz there's absolutely nothing to lose and potentially picks or a pivotal player with upside to be gained. I'm more and more impressed by Hickey's acumen.

I think Thigpen sticks around. As a 4th RB he's valuable on Special Teams and as a WR in a pinch. I think it's Moreno, Miller, Williams, Thigpen, with Darkwa on the PS.

I doubt that Thomas will have enough of an impact to warrant keeping him another year. Aside from not having the talent needed to play successfully at the NFL level, he can't stay healthy. I'd rather use the final RB spot on a young unproven commodity like Darkwa.

I think both Thiggy and Thomas will be cuts or trades and not on the opening day roster. As with all new GM's Hickey wants HIS guys so he'll keep a new draft pick or free agent over an Ireland leftover every time.

Dear football fandom morality judges, is it acceptable to root against our own player in this situation?

You are not rooting AGAINST him...you are rooting FOR finding someone better. It is only allowable to root against players wearing #19...

who cares what Daniel Thomas is doing these days? why is he still here?

In all honesty, I think this is a professional courtesy being extended by our HC and GM. Thomas has not played all preseason and this is merely a job interview for his next employer. A chance to prove he is healed and ready to play.

I can't see much more coming from this.

I have something even less popular to offer: I HOPE Daniel Thomas sticks around on the final 53 because I still think he's a good running back.

Because his 3.4ypc and 7 or 8 2 yard gimme TD runs are so impressive.

Hope he does well because three's always a chance that a rb-needy team will throw us a low pick for him.

I hope we get something but it rarely happens esp when a Rb has a career average of like 3.6

This wouldn't surprise me at all.
