"...The Dolphins improved to 7-4 to further solidify their position in the AFC wild-card race. More importantly, they have the look of a legitimate playoff team.

Playoff teams overcome injuries. The Dolphins played Sunday without three starters on their offensive line: left tackle Branden Albert (wrist), left guard Laremy Tunsil (shoulder) and Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey (hip). Backups Sam Young, Kraig Urbik and Anthony Steen held their own to help Miami produce 358 yards of total offense.

Playoff teams have their best players consistently perform at a high level. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for three touchdowns and has just one turnover in his past five games. Linebacker Kiko Alonso, who leads the team in tackles, added 11 more stops and an interception in the third quarter. Defensive end Cameron Wake registered a quarterback sack in his fourth straight game, and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh made the game-saving tackle on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick on the final play.

Playoff teams avoid letdowns. The Dolphins reversed an ugly trend in recent years of playing down to their competition. Miami jumped out to a 31-14 lead in the fourth quarter over lowly San Francisco (1-10), which went into desperation mode and scored 10 late points. The Dolphins also have been nearly unbeatable at home this year with a 5-1 record...

Your thoughts? :ponder:

Good teams find ways to win which is exactly what we are doing.

Bring on Baltimore.

Yes, bring on Baltimore. Wait...why do we seem to play them every year? Is this 4 years in a row now?

Thoughts?

Greatest ****ing headline I've read in over a decade.

They're damn near honorary members of the AFCE, as much as we play (and lose to, might I add) them.

Normally, and this goes for the Stej and Jills too, we get out-physicalitied (yes...it's a word...I just created it).

This team, with these coaches, won't get out-physicalitied by anyone. Sure we almost lost to a 1-9 team, but that record doesn't show how much they've been improving over the past 3 weeks...Krappernick has been balling...and they gave the Cheatriots a good game last week too. We face very few QBs that have the tools, when he's on, that Krapper has. As shown today, he can KILL you with his legs...this is nothing new. I'm just glad we got the practice against it and still managed to win, 'cuz Tyrod likes to run a bit too, and we'll be seeing them in a few weeks.

This team has a completely different feel than it did through 5 weeks into this season. They're manning up and hitting mother ****ers. We haven't had that in a while...get used to it.

Edit: And by the way...isn't VJ, like, 4-0 the last 4 times he faced the ****birds when he was with the Bungles? Ya...I like our chances.

I disagree. At least they certainly don't look like a good playoff team.

But it is nice to see them win all these close games instead of find a way to lose like the usual Dolphins.

I'm partly with you.... With this line we can't run and we don't look like a good playoff team now. I hope that comes back soon! It is good to win games that we would probably have lost before.

This upcoming Baltimore game will be the telling to our season. That's the game I'm praying we'll be as healthy as can be. Because if we play like we can, we should beat them. Just wanting our guys to want that game as bad as I do.

Who looks like a good playoff team to you?

Oakland, dallas, and NE are pretty safe bets right now. A lot can happen from now to then but that's where the smart money is, currently.

3 of the only good o lines in football. Imagine that.

Who looks like a good playoff team to you?

I haven't been watching other teams this year. Hell I've even skipped parts of Dolphins games because the officiating and the league in general are driving me away. (and online streams suck)

This run has been fun to watch, but it reminds me of Sparano's first year here. Glaring weaknesses on the team, catching breaks to get a good record, fighting for a playoff spot (which is great, it sucks watching when the team isn't competing for anything), and coaches who appear to be changing the culture for the better, but have made quite a few boneheaded decisions throughout the season that are overlooked because we managed to come away with wins. Remember how Sparano's team got bounced in the first round because the Ravens took advantage of all our weaknesses and completely crushed us? That's about what I expect from this team if they manage to make it in. Unless Tannenbaum is some sort of voodoo witch doctor and that's how the Jets managed to get to the afc championship game with freaking buttfumble at QB.
