ESPN-dolphins weekness-wide reciever

Miami did use some 2009 draft picks to help the position, but I'm not fond of any of the incoming rookies. USC's Patrick Turner (selected in the third round) and Ohio State's Brian Hartline (a fourth-round pick) could exceed my expectations. But I expect both players to be best suited for a No. 4 receiver role. Each will struggle to gain separation at this level.
Ohhhhh, so because this guy isn't fond of Turner and Hartline, the WR position is the weak part of the team.

Gotcha

I don't really have a problem with people saying that wide receiver is a weakness. Our offense was in the bottom half of the league in scoring and our wide receiver core is built with solid/average players. I think they'll move beyond that solid/average range but until they do I can't blame other peopel for pointing it out as a weakness.

I know right. I like how he states Ginn has potential to be a good # 2.
I am sorry but he is going into his third year (the breakout year for most wr's) and he only sees potential for him to be a good #2??? OK Espn.

I disagree we are week at WR. We might not have a fitzgerald or Andre Johnson, but we are stacked with a lot of talented WR's and ginn has the potential to be a #1.

I think you could argue that our FO sees WR as a definite weakness just by the sheer volume of players they are auditioning at the position... Clearly they are not comfortable moving forward with last year's lineup alone... and truthfully the players you mentioned are ESTABLISHED guys and right now our corps is big on potential but slim on experience.

Ted Ginn showed alot of flashes to be a good WR last year. once we build up his confident hill grow into his own. Week 17 he owned the jets, catching the the TD in the corner of the end zone and then making the ajustment on the under throw ball. This is his year.

Potential...doesn't really describe it....experience isn't the worst item....last year and many years prior, we had a true lack of talent at receiver. It now appears they have taken care of that problem...of course we won't really know until the whistle blows.

I 100% agree. Ted has shown big play ability and that he can make the tough catch over the middle. We all know he is dynamic with the ball in his hands. I think he will have 1,000 yards this season.....however i think we will see his true potential when Henne gets the nod.

You hit the nail on the head there dude.

We had such a great opportunity at #25 to draft a guy that has huge upside, great hands, and would have been a perfect compliment to Ginn in Hakeem Nicks. I guarantee down the line we will regret not pulling the trigger on Nicks, and you can quote me on that.
Almost everything that this dude says in his article is on point. We have Ginn, who has some potential but outside of a few flashes he has been mediocre, and we have a bunch of other guys that are best suited in the slot or in backup roles. We need help at WR, pretty desperately.

Im glad our FO doesn't share your viewpoint....the secondary was the weakest part of this team last yr even before Goodman left...I would much rather have the best CB on the board than another reciever.

Nicks would have been nice, no doubt. But on the other hand, i tell you I bought some draft magazines and watched the draft on the nfl network and ESPN to get all takes and I swear I heard Vontae David was the most physically gifted athlete in this draft several times. If he can put it together I think we got a steal at #25.

You have to stop the opponent more so then outscoring them.

By the essense of your statment you prove their point. You say Ginn has th "POTENTIAL" to be a number one reciever. If he doesn't become that than we have no number one receiver. Which is a very big problem!

I guess I disagree with them more on the point of saying our WR's are a weakness. Even if Ginn doesnt become a legitamate #1 this year we are still going to have a very good group of WR's with Ginn,Bess,Camarillo, london and our rookies. And to add if you have a great def, and solid off you dont necessarily have to have a star WR to win it all.
