Okay...

I LOVE the draft... I look very much forward to it every year. I like it better than the Super Bowl (except maybe this year's SB! :) ) ... My only gripe is that by Day 2, it seems like the people covering the draft are all burnt out. Don't get me wrong, I like Chris Berman, he's awesome, but it just seems like there's a drop-off from Day one to Day two.

So here's the deal... why don't they have the College Gameday crew host Day 2? Think about it... Day one we get Berman... Day two we get Lee, Kirk, and Dan. That would be fantastic in my opinion! It brings together the college and pro crews just like the draft does the players. Plus, we get a little taste of Gameday, which is the best pre-game show in sports. Finally, you get people who know the college kids inside and out, especially the lesser known kids who are going on Day 2. Everyone knows Matt Ryan and D. McFad, but Lee and Kirk, and Dan will have special insight on the guys going in the later rounds like 5, 6, and 7. Berman and Co. just don't have that insight simply because the college game is thier specialty. IMO, it would shake things up and make Day 2 more enjoyable!

Thoughts?

I wouldn't object to it.

but for the most part of day 2, they aren't even really talking about the current picks...they keep revisiting the day 1 guys, holding interviews, etc.

thats a pretty good idea.. i would def.. be all for it..

Never thought of that, but i like it.

One thing i dont like is how on day to, the dont ever show the people getting selected and you have to keep your eye at the bottom ticker the whole time unless you catch them reviewing the last 5 or 10 picks at once. But i definitely look forward to sitting on my couch all draft day weekend every year and this one shall be no different.

definitely not a bad idea. I like corso and herbstreit. I think this year though, with the draft being shortened, it help the burnout of kiper, mayock, davis, berman and the rest of those guys. also i dont think its necessarily the draft that burns these guys out but the days leading up to it. the constant phone calls and texts kiper and mayock get have to be insane.

Agreed, I think the quicker format should help them out a ton. This should be a good draft to watch (they all are) but it will be interesting to see how they handle the change of pace... and I agree Kiper and Mayock have to be loosing thier minds. lol.

Well, the gameday crew would know about the players being drafted but they probably wouldn't know about the teams drafting them. Like if Cincinatti drafted Matt Ryan the crew might think "oh, Ryan's a good quarterback, etc." but they wouldn't realize that Cincinatti has needs elsewhere and one of the top QB's in the league.

I think Berman is a tool.

i think i remember reading somewhere that kiper gets like 200 phone calls a day starting like a week before the draft. i mean that has to be insane. i go nuts when my phone rings like 5 times.

Remember day 1 is only 2 rounds this year so they have 32 (33 cuz of New England) less picks on day 1 so that should avoid the burnout

Also less time between picks which means less filler time that should avoid burnout
