Of course they were talking about the potential regression of RG III as a lead topic (no doubt because the Cowboys had a bye week). Stephen A. said he heard it from multiple reliable sources that Shanahan wanted to stay at #6 and draft Tannehill. The decision to move up to draft RG III was 100% Snyder's decision.

Also, when Mike & Mike asked Ditka what impressed him about yesterday's games, he said Philbin's ability to keep his team focused and gut out an important win. He elaborated by saying that Philbin knows what he's doing and is not the source of the Dolphins' issues.

If he has the stones to fire Sherman's son-in-law ... maybe I'll feel better about him.

What the...we won't have any positive talk in here mister. Take that stuff somewhere else.

Philbin has definitely shown up big here IMO. This team could've easily tanked amidst all the hubbub and the mediocre record.

I don't necessarily think the team is well-coached, but it's hard not to credit Joe Philbin for somehow keeping this team afloat in this mess.

I've never seen anything like this in the midst of an NFL season.

Philbin has some admirable qualities that may make him well suited to keep this team somewhat focused.

Still you cannot escape the fact that he is a 30 year career assistant.
There are going to be some on the job mistakes.

This is true, and it's also why I want to give him another year if this team somehow comes out of this mess 8-8 or 9-7.

We've already invested two years in him and taken our lumps. I just want him to do something, anything with that offensive staff. Mike Sherman + Zac Taylor is getting frustrating.

Philbin is not really the issue on the team....its the staff he hired and Ireland are...If he has the balls to move on from Sherman and the offensive coaches (with the exception being Dan Campbell) then I will have loads of respect for him. I admire loyalty to a point, but this team will never truly progress as long as some of these assistants remain on staff.

Funny how I keep hearing that statement in reference to the Dolphins.

Ricky Williams saga
Brandon Marshall personality disorder
Ross flying out to talk to Harbaugh while he still has a coach in place
Dave Wannstedt quitting on the team with almost half the season left
Nick Saban saying he's not going to coach Alabama

There are probably more that I can't think of right now.

We tanked last week and came to play this week. Let's see what the next few weeks look like before we rush to judgement. For all I know we can finish 7-9 pr 8-8 with a lot of divisional losses and that won't fly. I think Philbin has positives but he needs to have the stones to correct what's wrong and not be satisfied with what we all see as deficiencies. If he can't do that for whatever reason, adios, I want to finish our division in first for once and sniff the playoffs.

Ricky Williams happened on the eve of the season, not halfway through, and didn't embroil the rest of the players and coaching staff in a huge national scandal. Ross flying to meet Harbaugh happened after the season. Wanny wasn't the first 1-7 coach to get ****-canned halfway through the year.

The only one that's even close IMO was Saban, and that didn't involve a damn NFL investigation and a giant national scandal in which the entire team, from the owner down to the players were being pilloried in the press on an hourly basis. The team is about to have their week disrupted by hours and hours of meetings with a damn NFL appointed special counsel investigating allegations of unethical or even criminal activity within the Dolphins. You honestly think Ricky Williams quitting to go smoke herb is in the same realm as that?

I don't even see how any of those things are remotely comparable to this.

Philbin has some admirable qualities.

His greatest quality is that he's brought this GB system to Mia, which makes us kinda unique, different in the NFL, and that he's brought the creator of that unique style with him.

Damn, you know it's bad when someone wants to QB coach to be fired? When was the last time a QB coach was fired during the season? So now we are overvaluing the damn QB coach, the one who has been with Tannehill since day one, and has a lot to do with him being a first round selection.

And just because his the son in law, now all the sudden that's a conversation and he's no longer qualified to do the job. All this stems from losing a few games..

I think Kevin Coyle has alot to do with this teams struggles more than Mike Sherman and Zac Taylor.
