Dolphins the lone Culpepper bidder?

<Mar. 12> With the Titans and Raiders having dropped out of trade talks to acquire QB Daunte Culpepper from Minnesota, the Dolphins appear to be the only suitor remaining. But Culpepper is second to Drew Brees on the Miami shopping list.
The Vikings apparently overplayed their hand, according to ESPN.com's John Clayton, putting a deadline on the teams giving each the impression that one of the other teams was offering a second-round pick. The Raiders, offering only a conditional third-round choice, dropped out, and Titans GM Floyd Reese officially notified the Vikings he is no longer interested.
The Dolphins were scheduled to meet with Brees on Sunday in Miami. If Brees chooses instead to sign with the Saints, the Dolphins could turn to Minnesota and Culpepper. But it's unikely Miami will offer any more than a third-round pick, figuring the Vikings likely will release Culpepper later this week rather than pay his $6 million roster bonus. Arizona, Detroit and the New York Jets also have been mentioned as potential landing spots for Culpepper.

:tantrum: Man if dolphins would'nt give up more than a 3rd rounder for him then there missing out on a probowl qb and i would give up a second rounder anytime to get someone like that.:tantrum:

Wow, this is basically saying that Miami can take their pick of the two...

Who would you rather have? Me, Culpepper. It's easier to come back from leg injuries as a QB than arm injuries.

A QB can still be effective without too much mobility. But Pennington proved that a QB can really be affected by lingering arm injuries.

Culpepper's entire game depends upon his legs. His arm is strong, and his stats show he is accurate, but if he had to change his style of play that isnt a slam dunk by any means! If you are so sure about him...why arent all these teams with QB needs willing to give up a 3rd for him?

The only thing I'm sure of is that I'd rather have a talented QB with leg issues over a talented QB with arm issues.

Lack of moblity can be adapted (see: Dan Marino). Culpepper has a gun..it may take him a while to get used to being somewhat stationary.

But Brees could be a complete bust, and end up like Pennington
