ESPN is reporting that Jamal Lewis has signed with the Cleveland Browns.

Just thought I would put it out there since there have been a few posts about how we should pursue him as a backup to Ronnie.

I am liking this as I am not a Quinn guy.

This might mean that the Browns will take Quinn instead of Peterson.

The more I look at it, I am sort of hoping that Alan Branch is there at 9 or I am hoping we trade down for either Jarrett or Ginn.

interesting, however it can be possibly unfortunate news for us that we will be looking at a complete different draft now....i have a feeling that we are going to draft levi brown, just an early prediction or a gutt feeling, not that i necesairly want that to be our pick but just a bold prediction

This could defintely hurt the fins chances of getting Quinn. This bites. Well maybe the browns will go defense with there pick.

This is gonna shake up the top of the draft.

Nah, Cleveland still drafts AP . . . Jamal doesn't have too much left, he is past his prime. It would be a nice 2 headed monster for a season or 2 max, before AP would take over and be the featured back. Hell if they draft AP, he still would be the starter IMO. This does spell trouble for Droughns tho.

If AP were to fall to 9, man I would be tempted to pull the trigger on him, I like him better than Reggie. But nah, Minny would jump him, but would be crazy if it happened.

Forget Quinn, I dont get it Crennel and Savage are on the hot seat. Why sign a old watch up RB instead of getting a young RB. I guess they know they have to win now. Well who knows maybe they trade up.....

If we want Quinn bad enough, we'll get him. With 9 picks, we should be able to snake our way up the board and grab him.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

LEWIS SIGNING DOESN'T RULE OUT PETERSON PICK

Scout.com reports that the deal between the Browns and running back Jamal Lewis is a one-year deal only.

Recently, it was reported that Lewis did not want to sign a one-year deal.

The practical effect? The addition of Lewis doesn't mean that the Browns won't draft running back Adrian Peterson with the No. 3 overall pick. Lewis can be the starter while Peterson spends his rookie year learning the ropes. Then, in 2008 or 2009, Peterson can take over the running game.

Also, the fact that Lewis accepted a one-year contract in Cleveland could mean that the Ravens yanked their offer after they turned their focus to Willis McGahee.

The first thing I thought when I read this was no more Brady Quinn to Miami.

i originally thought the same thing... but they still need AP... but i would be more worried if i was a tampa fan.... for calvin johnson

Its only a one year deal, i still think the Browns draft AP.
