ESPN, John Clayton- Miami is darkhorse

unfortunately i agree with you.. but the fish have proved us wrong before

Great read about the phins. However he states with 3 wins in the next three games that if the phins and pats finish with 10 wins apiece that the phins would make the playoffs. He forgot to mention that if we do that then lose to the Jets, the phins would need the Ravens or Colts to lose three or their last 4 to go 9-7.

Here's another interesting bit from that write up...........

The biggest asset is QB Matt Ryan. Passed over by the Dolphins and Rams on draft day, Ryan is more than just the likely winner of rookie of the year. You can make an argument that he's an MVP candidate. Ryan has played like a five-year veteran at quarterback. Since getting the starting job before the start of the regular season, Ryan has shown remarkable leadership and Peyton Manning-like poise running the offense. By midseason, he was able to complete passes to third, fourth and fifth reads. Ryan has no trouble going to the no-huddle offense on the road. He's completed more third-and-longs than perhaps any quarterback in the league. It's hard to believe he's a rookie.

And the statement that says it all and why I stated was the biggest reason to not pass on taking the franchise QB in Matt Ryan............

Ryan showed early that he should make the Falcons a playoff contender annually

Sure would be nice to have him.....thanks BP.

Jake sucks, Henne is crap, blah, blah, blah..... Yeah, yeah, yeah, we get it already.

Ive never said such things.

For the record, I think J.Long has done a pretty nice job. Henne, well I think he might be the goods, but I need to see him play in games that count. Time will tell.

Its obvious Henne isnt as good as Matt Ryan though. If he were as good as Ryan, he would be starting over Pennington.

Pennington is a very good player btw, he just isnt as good as Ryan. And honestly, even I, a guy who billed Ryan as easily the best player in the draft, didnt foresee Ryan being this good already.

seriously bro...why can't you just let it go? you've made your point 10,000 times, and it won't change anything

all you do is piss people off with this ****...your own fellow dolphin fans you intentionally just try to piss off...

at the time of the draft, jake long was the safest pick...period...and I for one am happy to have him.

remember cadillac williams breakout rookie year and everyone said we ****ed up by taking brown over him?

give matt ryan more than 12 games before annointing him to the hall of fame

could you sack ride matt ryan any more??

tell me something....why would Pennington have a hard time with the winds and cold in Buffalo?

So like he played in NY for 8 years and that means diddly squat now?

And like chap lip California beach bum JP Losman wouldnt have just as much a prob?

I love how these prognosticators all say Miami would have problems with the wind while the Greatness of all other Buffalo QB's wouldnt. They practice indoors all week.

Perhaps not, but it certainly seems that way. All you ever do is keep crowing about Matt Ryan. It's always "Matt Ryan this..." or "Matt Ryan that..." With all of this Matt Ryan talk it gives off the appearance that you're dminishing Jake Long's accomplishments or just don't care about them all together simply because this regime didn't draft the player of your choice. I don't know and you don't know how Matt Ryan would've fared in a Dolphins uniform this season. I think what is becoming abundently clear is that the Falcons had more talent than some of us originally thought, and also that some guy named Michael Turner is a pretty damn good RB.

Just because you have some massive man-crush on Matt Ryan doesn't mean you have to keep going on and on about how the Dolphins made a mistake in passing on him. Jake Long was a great draft pick for the Dolphins, and Matt Ryan was a great draft pick for the Atlanta Falcons. Let's just leave it at that.

If I could use my "Thanks" button a Million times on one post it would be yours. What kinda of Dolphin fan constantly trashes his own team players and coaches, at the same time finding a ton of love for evryone but the Dolphins? A fan that isn't a fan at all, but a imposter trying to trash the Dolphins and get away with it and for some reason some people are allowed to trash Dolphin players, piss people off and get away with it......CONSTANTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we had a running game as good as ATL's that would be a great asset to any QB. Henne and Pennington included.

WV I usually can follow you pretty well but im a slight bit confused here. I actually reread the post a couple times but anyway....Are you saying we are the darkhorse to make the playoffs because of Matt Ryan? Or is Matt Ryan is the reason we wont make the playoffs?

For the life of me I cant figure out how ryan is linked to us being a darkhorse

I'm confused as to why we shouldn't be happy about how this season is going and what we did to get here. Pennington is doing a good job and having a great year as our QB.

I'll believe it when I see it. If the Dolphins can win 8 straight games (one can dream, right???), then it'd truly be an amazing story...a New York Giants story of this season. Until then, the Fins are still an up and coming team battling for a playoff spot. They're not that far off from becoming a serious force in the NFL, though... so they've got them going for them.

Your wrong. If Pennington was with the falcons, he would without a doubt be the starter.
