ESPN: Manning interested in Miami?

I'm tired of all these older injured qb's that we keep reaching for. Even if Peyton is healthy, and that's a big "IF" were still not going to know until closer to when the season starts and that's taking a big chance. Best case scenario he's healthy and we get 2 to 3 good years from him instead of building towards the future were going to end up right back where we are now in a couple of years. The only good I really see in getting him is that it would put butts in the seat but if they think Flynn is the real deal or RG3 could be the future than I'd much rather go those routes.

The problem with signing someone like Flynn is that he is probably going to be wanting what kevin Kolb got. That is a big risk in and of itself. Trading up for RG3 you would have to give up quite a bit to get him (high picks this year and high future picks). If you hold out for Manning, you may pay him a lot of money but odds are it will be an incentive contract. At least if you hold out for Manning (even if you do sign him before he is completely healed, by all indications he is working as hard as he can to get his arm strength back) and when he does come back healthy enough to play you at least know somewhat what you are getting. Plus you can spend a mid round pick on a qb who has a lot of potential but no polish. Who better for a developing qb to sit behind than Peyton Manning? IMO signing Manning is a low risk very high reward. I'll take a Manning with a chip on his shoulder any day of the week over other unknowns.

Edit: Also by getting Manning to play qb, this enables the Dolphins to address other key issues with the team early in this draft and possible next two or three drafts other than qb. Thus giving Manning's future successor the keys he will need to be successful.
