ESPN: Miami may be Trading for 2nd Pick

There are very little similarities in their games. Griffin isn't even a scrambling QB. He's a pocket QB, with great ability to scramble. I see more Rodgers than I do Newton/ Smith/ Vick/ Young/ etc.

Its because he's black. Every black qb is scramble first pass second. God forbid a black qb with possibly the highest IQ in the draft could pass the ball better than he runs...

It's because he bails out of the pocket at the first sign of pressure, if his first read isn't open, if a bird flies over, etc.

He's better than some peoples choices of Tannehill or Weeden.

this is garbage...no ones talking trade up right now...we're way too early for that

that said watching this broncos o if mike mccoy gets the hc job i'm definitely thinking that we will be trying to trade up for rg3...watching this o he's putting out there tonight i definitely think he would be about a real duel threat qb

If they give up pics and take RG3, a qb who has only been in a 1 read, spread offense with NO time under center, this will just about put the final nail in this franchise.

if they want to go all out, go for a real deal nfl prospect in andrew luck. there is a price for everything, throw it all at the colts.

if rg3 makes it in the nfl, i will be damned suprised. and if he does, it wont be for a few years and this franchise doesnt have a few years or the patients to wait on a hi round prospect that cost them a fortune in cash and pics. when you spend that much it has to be on a player that comes in on DAY ONE and produces!!

RG3, not having any time under center and knows nothing of a pro style offense is NEVER coming in here and un seating matt moore. so for those who close there eyes at night and have sweet dreams of matt moore on the bench crying into a towel while rg3 tosses td after td, you are going to have a long, looooong season.

blackmon and luck are the ONLY two players worth paying the price it will take to move up to the second spot.

what about cam newton?

same thing they said about cam newton... take a chance for once in your entire life, after that u can go back to ur regular safe ways of living with little to no rewards .

I wonder how many people has actually watched him play ball in college as their assessment seems to be waaaay off based.

give up whatever it takes

nobody on our roster is worth what a RG3 would be to this franchise.

YOUR DEAD ON. this is the offense he has had in his college career. these spread offenses in college are 1 read offenses. you read your 1st and only read and basically wing it after that. most go into a scramble and thats why we see so many scrambling qb's from spread offenses in college.

he hasnt had a wiff of a pro style set and has had NO time under center. that being said, he is NEVER walking in here and unseating matt moore. no way, no how. and these type of guys bust WAY MORE than they succeed.

can this franchise survive giving up massive pics and salary for a qb who is 70% likely to bust and 99% sure will not see the field for his first two or three years? no, it cant. this would be an absolute disaster to draft RG3 and have this happen.

if the team wants to move up and give up all they have to for the second overall choice, it better be for blackmon or luck. no other player in this draft is worth the risk.

i am not bashing RG3. he is a GREAT college qb. but he is from the WORST type of system to come in the nfl and have success right away. nfl reads, playing from under center, etc.... take years of practice and he is way, way behind the 8 ball on these skills.

we cant afford that risk. and as dazzling in college as he has been, he is a REAL IFFY pro prospect.

I'll shut this down right now, because these comparisons are beginning to get more and more ridiculous. I get it, he's extremely athletic, so he gets compared to every scrambling QB to ever play college football.

Since most who obviously hasn't watched him play much, but yet seem to speak as if they KNOW who Robert Griffin III is. Let's compare senior seasons:

Stat line: Pass completions/Attempts - Completion % - Yds - TDs/Ints

Cam Newton 2010: 185/280 - 66.1% - 2,854 - 30/7
Pat White: 180/274 - 65.7% - 1,842 - 21/7
Troy Smith: 203/311 - 65.3% - 2,542 - 30/6
Vince Young: 215/325 - 65.2% - 3,036 - 26/10
Michael Vick: 97/179 - 54.2% - 1,439 - 9/7

Robert Griffin III: 291/402 - 72.4% - 4,293 - 37/6
Andrew Luck: 288/404 - 71.3% - 3,517 - 37/10

His schedule: TCU, Stephen F Austin, Rice, Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St, Missou, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas, and of course Washington in the Alamo Bowl.

All of this will be moot anyway, because I don't believe we'll have enough to move up to get him anyway. But anyone who compares him to any of the scrambling QBs of the past, clearly hasn't watched him play much, if any; He won the Heisman over Andrew Luck for a reason.
