So the situation is this: New England, still the so-called "team to beat" in the division, is beat up in the secondary -- again (see 2004). New York, the No. 1 contender for the division title, will start Brooks Bollinger at QB. Right now all he's got going for him is a cool name. Buffalo has a first-year starter at quarterback in J.P. Losman and just lost its best defensive player.
Injurywise, the Dolphins are in the best shape of anybody in this division, and at 2-1 and tied for first, Miami is in pretty good shape. Miami will get a boost from Ricky Williams' return Oct. 16, Zach Thomas is really taking to Nick Saban's defense and the Dolphins gained a measure of confidence from beating a good Carolina team. The way this division looks now, Miami could push for ... second.
