Dolphins are 8th, but Patsies still above us at 6th.

Yes, the Pats lost some key players this offseason. But are you really ready to hand the AFC East to someone else with Brady and Belichick still at the wheel?
My answer, yes, if any of the other 3 teams in the AFC East had Saban and Daunte at the helm! And that just happens to be the Dolphins, hehe, m being a homer here cuz there's no doubting how accomplished Brady and Belichick are, and there's just a great difference in how good coaches and players should be, and how good they have been. But Saban and Daunte will tear it up, no doubt in my mind about it.

I can't believe that we got that much love from ESPN. I like it. :D

I've never been a fan of these powerrankings at any cost. I'm not saying that others shouldnt look at it and be happy where other people rank us, but i personally dont get excited either way about it.

Don't want to be too negative since I think the team is in great shape but maybe we should pull a Saban and start managing expectations. The Phins look like a very good football team right now but there's always the luck and injury factors to account for. Everybody in Dolphin World, including us fans, might be wise to take this one game at a time and see where the chips fall at the end. The Phins have the talent, drive, and teamwork to beat any team in the league but not if they start looking past opponents and stop focusing on doing what it takes to be tough, gritty overachievers.

Plus, the Jets and Bills are like the Phins were last year...not nearly as bad as everybody thinks. They were both playoff contenders last offseason that floundered badly when it came time to play the games. They've fixed a lot of problems which means this division will probably still be among the league's toughest.

That said, this team is capable of winning big if it just puts its head down and focuses on being excellent at all aspects of the game.

I don't know about 8 yet. Lets see how C-pep comes around. By mid season
I am a little surprised to see where the Bills and Jets are...
28 and 31 is too high for either of them.

I like how even they no the Pats are going down hill a little bit, but still are saying no one will contest them for the division. Just because a coach and a QB are there, they are never going to lose? I thought the Patriots were the ultimate definition of a team. But now they are relying on one guy who isn't even on the field, and another guy (who is pretty good) to win games? Sounds a little off to me. I really don't see them winning the East in 2006.

8th sounds about right until DC is 100% and our O-line gels together. I was looking at the new NFL.com Fantasy Football magazine today and they had Ronnie Brown ranked as the 4th best FF running back in the entire league behind Shaun Alexander, L Tomlinson, and Larry Johnson...that is some nice props!!!!

Yippeee!!!!!!!! These rankings don't mean a thing. Gimme a break, a couple of key injuries to any team could ruin a season. All that matters is if you make the playoffs and how you're playing come playoff time. See the Steelers last year.

what you are saying is much different than what they said.

we play 5 games to teams rated above us and six in the bottom five. I think we see at least a 9 win season but I hope it will be better than that.

I don't care where they have us rated right now. It's where we end up that really counts. Hopefully the players are not reading the hype right now and are focused on the training camp and pre-season games to improve.
