ESPN Predictions: Herm and Merril say Manning to Miami

isnt he supposed be release in less than 10 days?
Even if he is. Your medical staff are the only ones that can see him throw. Will you sign Manning while he rehabs? Does Manning want to be in Miami ? Manning will be cautious on who he associates himself with ( Ireland ) . Just don't think it's that clear cut. Plus Would Jeff Fisher Turn down a chance to Coach Peyton Manning? Remember that jersey.

I have mixed emotions on the thought of him coming here. Could we win with him? Yes. But the risk would be great and if we don't win the big one with him then I feel it would hurt how we view philban. I wonder how on board he would be...now I am sure philban would be thrilled to have him if a super bowl was in the cards but if not how long would joe be willing to take a back seat to manning and his play calling slash habits?

What decade? even if Manning is here for 3 years the back up QB will have a great teacher, if you bring in a rookie to start it will set them back until he gets up to snuff.

The more I hear it, the more I really don't like the idea. I think it will ultimately set us back a decade. I mean, we are essentially buying Dan Marino's last couple of years. Oh, but coming off an injury we're not sure he can recover from. Then we're right back to looking for a franchise qb. But also, we'll need to start replacing guys like Long, Bell, Marshall, Bush, Davis, etc, either to age, injury or free agency.
I'd muchh prefer a young, healthy option that still has the bulk of his career in front of him. Need only to look at Favre and McNabb to see where this is going.

Think about the future. You know Ireland is. We haven't made a move in the draft. Maybe we work a trade to move down, pick up Tannehill, a kid who's not only the next best QB available, but also knows Mike Sherman's system better than any QB out there.

Basically, why does picking up Manning mean we can't go younger for the future? We can do both.

It's going to be either us or Arizona. And he has more familiarity with the South Florida area, so we've got a good shot. Time to get excited.

will the doctors watch him throw? i thought they were more into mri's and physicals?
fisher has bradford. w/ manning/flynn and all the qbs in the draft , what team is he going to trade bradford to ?
if reggie wayne is willing to attach his professional career to mannings hip, it would seem reggie has seen enough in mannings rehab that he is ready to go.

there's gonna be some sad folks if manning doesn't come to town.
i wont be sad. it just means philbin has faith in flynn or we are going to draft a qb. so its a win, win, win, unless of course moore is the starter next year. in that case bring on barkley.

That's what they are saying. Team docs can watch him throw but can't tape it. On the fisher point you misunderstand me. What I'm saying is do you think Jeff Fisher would have left Miami if he thought he had a chance to coach Peyton? IMO Manning to Miami does not seem as clear cut as their making it out to be. Ps ESPN loves to magnify The Dolphins mistakes just saying.

oh, about fisher.
i just think if you take all the circumstances about manning, and wrap it in a big ball. we are the right spot for him. of course this all hinges what the dolphins are thinking. it will be real interesting real soon and i just dont see dolphins and manning uninterested in each other. cant wait.

The fisher situation was a long time ago when there was much less info on peyton or if he would even leave the colts...

Don't agree . Imo They tried to sell the "But we are going to go after Peyton Manning " to Fisher.

**** Fisher. Im glad he isn't our coach, IMO we dodged a bullet by not giving into him with the staff he has put together.

End of the day, here's my biggest concern: right now, Flynn, RG3, Tannehill can throw a 40 yard pass. There's no reason to even consider that they won't be able to next week or 6 months from now.

You can't say the same about Manning. There is no way to be assured of it before you would have to sign him. It's a huge gamble, I think the odds are against it, and the absolute best outcome that you are hoping for, (at huge opportunity cost), is to rent him for a couple of years, then start over.
