No matter where I go, there I am.
ESPN radio reported about an hour ago on their "NFL tidbit" that a Minnesotta newspaper, noted for their pessimism about Culpepper, has stated that the Phins organization has declared that Culpepper is 100% to start the season. I've been looking on the net since then trying to find a link, but no luck. I know I heard the report right, but I can't find any other corroboration.

Wow! Thats great news! Too bad you can't find a link to help back it up. :boohoo: I feel that he'll start week one.

It was in the Sid Hartman column.

Now the word from the Miami Dolphins is that ex-Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper has made great strides in rehabilitating his injured knee and definitely will be ready to play in the season opener.

It was also in the scout.com vikings update:

The buzz out of Miami is that Culpepper is all but assured of starting opening day and is in the best shape he's been in since his rookie year with the Vikings.

The organization isnt going to announce he's 100% to start even if he really is.

Do Not Let Daunte Start The Season. Worst Choice Saban Can Make.

What are you talking about? Daunte is doing great and will be ready to go. Why wouldn't we start him?

Whaattt??? If he know's he's a 100% & Saban & the Doctor's decide he's 100% & are going to start him. Why would you bench him????? Fact is Daunte's been running around for a while, and this news is probably true. The best news about him being good to go for the start of the season is that he'll be able to play some of the pre-season, and be able to get comfortable with his line & WR's while people are seriously coming at him.

running around is one thing...getting hit is another. Tell me, how is Daunte going to be ready to open if he doesn't play preseason...where the danger is great. I'm real pleased with his progress, my only concern is game speed hits and moves. Time takes time, I wonder how much protection a leg brace can offer...

He's pretty much guaranteed to start the season unless he takes a bad shot to the knee during preseason...but there's no way the Phins will actually say anything about it and he'll probably be listed questionable every single game of the year. That's a Belichick move right there.
