From the ESPN article posted at 1:15PM today:

"A high-level source with one NFL team told ESPN.com the league has informed teams that any player placed on waivers during this period of uncertainty can be recalled from waivers until there is more clarity about the pending free-agency period."

It's been raised earlier on some threads and this looks like it confirms it for the first time as far as I've seen. While this probably wont affect our roster cuts (I don't see us wanting any of them back anyway except maybe Madison who probably won't want to play for us after getting cut), it very well may affect our ability to sign some of the prospective cut players we've all been talking about. Not sure if this is good or bad news. Just a heads up.

Well though i did say it wouldn't affect our players, I don't see why Wednesday wouldn't be included as a time of uncertainty. On Wed. we were 24 hours away from NFL Armaggedon. Have you seen something elsewhere where they specifically mention only Thursday-Sunday cuts? It'd be helpful because some good players were cut on Wednesday that might get recalled if they were allowed.

I got that from Adam Schefter on NFL network, probably the most reliable source in football.

naw dawg, thats Mort.

I have not heard of any team attempting to get a player back. That pretty much means the players cut Wednesday and Thursday probably would have happened anyway.

Because Wednesday cuts by teams were for players who were getting cut regardless. The ones that a team are iffy about (Gus etc) are being held until the last possible moment.

I think Saban was going to cut those guys regardless, so its a moot point.

Alot of the guys that were cut were probably going to get cut no matter what. Besides Madison does not have the Tackling skills that Saban wants in a Corner.

I don't think anyone here has understood my point. I know we won't want to bring back our cut players (unless we were extremely desperate and took madison restructured, again, no), I say that in my first post. I wanted to start a discussion on whether or not it would affect possible pickups from other players cut in this time of uncertainty considering lots of people are talking Will Shields, McGinest, etc.

Schefter smokes Mort. Hands down.
