Folks were up in arms over ESPN's power rankings, but Vegas's super bowl odds put miami tied for dead last...5dimes 2018 projected win total for Miami is better, but has us at 7 games. I've never bet on sports before but this is pretty tempting....national media overestimating the talent we gave up and underestimating the a) value of tannehill b) a better o-line c) the smart FA additions in Wilson and Amendola d) Drake vs Ajayi.

To me, the only way we get 6 or less wins is if Tannehill goes down again---the NFL recovery rate for QB's with ACL injuries is 90%.

FWIW the only other time I almost put money down was Mayweather vs. Mcgregor...at one point would've almost doubled my money lol

Meh, I see where they are coming from as on paper we got rid of supposedly 4 of our best players (Ajayi, Pouncey, Suh, and Landry) over the last months. I can see why they would think this. However I see our QB coming back, 113 passes going elsewhere for hopefully more than 9 yards a pop, RB's who know the playbook and aren't one dimensional and can pass protect, a center who can practice and not give away the snap count, and tackles that do their job and not over penetrate and lose gap integrity. I also see a culture change! My hopes are high if Tannehill's knee is okay and the OL changes work out!

I'm no expert nor do I follow vegas but why rank anyone right now? There hasnt even been a draft yet.

Don’t the Vegas books adjust these things based on bettors? Sounds like it’s more of bettors reacting to these moves than Vegas underestimating the fins. In that regard, these rankings by prominent media outlets do have some level of of effect. I wouldn’t put money on the Fins winning the super bowl though. Not yet at least.

There's no way I would bet on this team winning the super bowl, it just doesn't have enough talent on it. As for 7 wins? That sounds like a reasonable bet at 1:1 odds, but you're screwed if Tannehill goes down.

Well vegas does, bc you can start betting at any time. ESPN does it bc it's slow and boring ( I assume).

It’s hard to complain about the lack of respect from the national media when you take a look at our record the last ten years

2017 (6-10)
2016 (10-6)
2015 (6-10)
2014 (8-8)
2013 (8-8)
2012 (7-9)
2011 (6-10)
2010 (7-9)
2009 (7-9)
2008 (11-5)

Vegas isn’t stupid and they follow trends so until we get out of this cesspool of mediocrity and avoid finishing .500 or below we can continue to expect those who don’t cover the team closely and on a daily basis to judge us according to our track record

Thats alot to hope for......Personally I see Tannehill going down before were halfway through the season.........

Not sure what conferences we are playing, but I doubt we win 6. Way too many holes to fill in one off season to be competitive. Our QB is not good enough to mask our lack of talent.

Didn’t they have the team at seven wins last year with those guys?

Conferences? You mean divisions? Miami plays the AFC South and NFC North this year
