Multiple teams, including the Dolphins, are expected to inquire about Saintscoach Sean Payton's availability after this season, league sources told ESPN.The Colts also have been mentioned as a possible suitor for Payton, according to league sources.
Payton has two years remaining on his contract after this season, but it will not deter teams from approaching the Saints about a potential deal.

Here is the thing…NO major draft picks and….once and for all... Mr. Ross stop being the team that gets left at the alter.

Candidates such as Jim Mora Jr, Hue Jackson, Kyle Shanahan, Teryl Austin, Josh McDaniels and others not listed could do a fine job without the risk of making the team look foolish for coming in second place.

Count the Colts out unless they fire the real problem and that's Grigson. Definitely a connection with Miami but I'm not certain I like the idea of Payton. I would think if he gets fired he'll be on a short list.

Ross and Tannenbaum are all about splash. Hopefully Campbell gets the team playing competitively and they realize their are plenty of good coaches that just need a chance.

BTW, I think Payton is a home run pick. I just want to see the lay of the land before going all in.

Agreed, teams run by those individuals wouldn't have to fear looking foolish for coming in second place. Just looking foolish for coming in last place.

Do you even understand what the **** these coaches have actually "done"? Of course not, what do results matter, amirite?

Yes. I have reasons I like the coaches I listed and I have put in numerous other threads why these guys are on my shortlist. However, I am not going to keep explaining why I like the shortlist.

I'll enjoy watching you be wrong in multiple threads. I confronted your (incorrect) reasons for loving Hue Jackson in one thread, please link the thread with your approval of Josh McDaniels.

If you don't mind of course.

It does not matter who coaches this team next or there after until Ross sells the team.

If we learned anything is that when the Incognito Martin fiasco played out - we all got a good hard look at the incompetence, lack of leadership, poor decision making that goes on in the infrastructure of this team from the top down.

Has anyone EVER seen a greater collapse at the beginning of a season?

I have watched decades of NFL football and I have never seen a team do what this Dolphin team has done the past 4 or 5 years.

This is bizarre and weird and it is so clear to me nothing good can come from it because of Ross.

It ain't about coaching folks. Dan Snyder and the Redskins are your blueprint here - psychopath runs the team into the ground while fans spin writhing in pain.

IF we are in the market for a HC at the end of the season (I'm hoping Campbell does well) and IF the Saints are willing to deal.....I would definitely consider Sean Payton as an extremely attractive candidate for the job.

I wouldn't want to sell our collective souls to get him, however, I also think if our GM and Owner see him as the coach they want....the should absolutely go for it.

I've read 500 threads on allowing the GM to pick his own coach. If Payton is the guy they want......I wouldn't let fear of not getting him keep you from competing.

this is the dream hire, the "Big fish" as some billionaires would call it

Well in this case don't worry. You don't have a HC in place you have a place holder to keep the seat warm.

One with very strong links to Payton

Those that hate Bill Parcells….he might be the best selling point in getting Payton in door to stay.
