Sorry if there is a previous thread on this but I was unable to find one. I don't have ESPN Insider but I was wondering if anyone who does could summarize the ESPN article about the Dolphins catching up to the Pats in the AFC East? Thanks in advance.

I think there was a thread posted about this a few days ago, but maybe that was in the VIP. Anyways it bascially tells us what we already know. The Fins upgrades are legit. We should improve thanks to the upgrades in the secondary, because we got younger, tougher and faster. The guy gives the fins lots of love for the improvements to the Oline he adds from giving up over 50 sacks in 04 to giving up half that many in 05 going from 3.2 YPC TO 4.3. calling the Dolphins Oline a "huge success story" He concludes, adding Beasly to the frey was a more good news for the Fins.

He thinks Miamis front 7 is stout and should get even better given the improvements to the secondary. He thinks Miami is lacking in depth at the LB/RB and DT position but if we stay healthy we should be OK. He thinks Miami had a great offseason and the Jets and Bills have a lot of work to do this year and they should be non factors in the divisional race.

He talks about an easy schedule saying we have no west coast trips and we only have one cold weather game, in December against the Jills. He thinks the Pats did little to improve this offseason ( I disagree, I think the Pats had a great draft).

Summary, here's a QUOTE:

With Saban in charge, there are no gray areas in this organization. Players know what is expected of them and they either live up to those expectations or they are gone. Saban preaches conditioning in the sweltering summer Miami heat and the Dolphins test for body fat, muscle mass, and they even conduct hydration tests with all of their players. As a result, this team will be in great physical shape in September and October and should get off to a quick start.

The AFC East race likely will come down to the Pats and Dolphins and I predict both finish with 10-6 records. Miami will win the division because of tie-breakers, while New England will make the playoffs as a wild card. A lot of people think the Dolphins are still a year away from being a legitimate playoff contender. I think they are ready now. This will become a model organization that a lot of teams will try to copy.

Oh I just love the statement this writer gives concerning the Dolphins, "This will become a model organization that alot of teams will try to copy." Saban is doing everything right so far. Most of all he's warranted respect from the rest of the league and all of the critics, helping to restore the prestge two men, (Jimmy "3 Year" Johnson and Dave "Porn Stash" Wannstedt) almost killed.

Here's to the Saban/Mueller Era which started just a few months ago but hopefully will become the next Great Era in the legacy of the Miami Dolphins.

nice report, it seems the guy who wrote the article was right on the money and i like the comment about the dolphins being a model team, model teams are usually teams like the patrios and colts but nice to see miami and nick saban get credit for the way they've built our team:dolphins:

A model organization; who would have spoken those words back in '04?! A lot of improvement. It has been said many times and it is very true- IT ALL STARTS AT THE TOP! There is plenty of talent and parity in the NFL. Coaching, conditioning, attitude, intelligence, and perseverence is what separates the men from the boys in this league.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
