How on Earth has Dave Wannstedt been dealt a bad hand?????

Dave had the power to not only deal the cards he could play but he could hand pick the cards specifically being GM and coach.

He picked his own sorry cards.
Even if he had dealt himself a straight flush I truly believe he would have coached himself out of winning a championship anyway.

Bad hand my arse!
He made this mess and I will not feel sorry for him.

guys give them a break. I know everyone here is pissed off and they may be a little hasty at ESPN but i hate to say this, They HAVE been right so far. They said the dolphins offense would suck, which it has. They said the defense would be only good enough to keep them in close games, which it has, and that the only way they would win was to keep fiedler in, which is probably right. I know some people here like to think they could do so much better than everyone at ESPN but they are professionals guys. You guys think all they do is sit around eating dougnuts and stare at scott stuarts glass eye but its not like that. They know their S*** and they are mostly right, about the dolphins anyways.

I gotta totally agree with you.. there is no sympathy here for Wanny.. the guy made his bed and now he's gotta stand up and take the consequences that go along with his decision making.. or lack of.. :fire:

The guy is simply clueless and the downward spiral started 2 years ago...

Dave only stopped making personnel decisions THIS YEAR. The O-Line has been a mess for FIVE freakin' years. How long does it take to fix?

The national media has always been kinder to Dave than the locals, for one simple reason; they simply look at record instead of details. They see a team that wins more than they lose in a league where there are perennial losers. They see fans here as spoiled by success and ungrateful for the good job Wannstedt is doing; failing only to gain the very top of the mountain. They do not recognize that perhaps that 9-7 team in 2002 should have been 13-3; or the consistent late season woes; or the record against the Jets; or the lack of discipline and mental toughness under the gun; or the strange attachment to Fiedler as a legitimate QB for a team with SB aspirations; or the poor drafts. The national opinion is that we should stop whining, be thankful we are not the Cardinals, and get off Daves case.................

Great post.
It is a similar thought process many around here have.
I believe your points bring up the exact reasons why the team has fallen short in the past and why it has finally hit rock bottom.
