The national media has always been kinder to Dave than the locals, for one simple reason; they simply look at record instead of details. They see a team that wins more than they lose in a league where there are perennial losers. They see fans here as spoiled by success and ungrateful for the good job Wannstedt is doing; failing only to gain the very top of the mountain. They do not recognize that perhaps that 9-7 team in 2002 should have been 13-3; or the consistent late season woes; or the record against the Jets; or the lack of discipline and mental toughness under the gun; or the strange attachment to Fiedler as a legitimate QB for a team with SB aspirations; or the poor drafts. The national opinion is that we should stop whining, be thankful we are not the Cardinals, and get off Daves case.................
