I can't believe the hype on Matt Ryan. Not worth the overall #1 take a look at Jeremy Green's comments on the poll:

"Nation, are you nuts? I do not like the selection of QB Matt Ryan with this pick. Ryan would not have been the fourth-best QB in the Manning class (1998) or the Young class (1984). This is a clear reach because he is not even one of the top five players in this draft. Miami has team needs at just about every level of their football team, so even though QB is the most obvious and important, why reach for a player when there are better players that also fill need positions? Miami has needs on both lines as well and Jake Long or Chris Long would fill the voids. However, I would take a player not at a major need position. They should take RB Darren McFadden. He is the best player in this draft, and that is what you want to get when you have the first overall selection."

I don`t think McFadden is a top 5 pick either...we don`t have a glaring need for an RB...I suggested Rice in the 3rd...we need an OT,OG,CB,OLB,and QB before a running back. I think this guy was smokin some good herb with Ricky when he wrote this.

you do not take a running back when you need help on both lines, jake long is the pick plain and simple build the offensive line and let ronnie run

Yeah his comment doesn't even make sense. He stresses the team needs, especially on the line, then suggests the Fins take DMC??

If you look at the 2007 picks they only got one pick right. Far from credable. It morefor entertainment!

ya exactly, McFadden is pretty much the only player at the top of the draft we shouldnt even consider taking. He is an awesome running back, but with our glarring needs it would be completely retarded to take DMC and i have complete confidence in the tuna not to make that mistake.

i'm all for taking one of the Longs with the 1st pick if we can't trade out, preferably Jake, but if not him, there are other OT in this draft we can get to help solidify our OL.

Matt Ryan is smooth and gives a great interview, but this does NOT make him the first overall pick. We made a poor choice last year in taking Ginn at #9 last year, and we don't need to compound it by going after another reach in Ryan. Jake or Chris Long has to be the pick if we can't trade down.

Ryan is gone top 5 guys, and there is a chance he goes #1 overall, if not to us then via a trade.
Hate it or love it, thats just the nature of the position, QB is given more value simply because of the difficulty of the position.

And really, there seems to be an awfully high amount of negativity on this board about him. I for one would feel far better about taking Ryan #1 overall then I was about the prospect of us taking Alex Smith #2 a few years ago. Personally, Im on the Jake Long trailer, but if Ireland and Parcells dont think Beck can hack it, then Ryan would not have me up in arms.

I remember so many people screaming in disbelief after passing on Quinn last year. Now we have a second rounder with a very unimpressive rookie year that people are all but handing a probowl start. What?
Or they say to wait till the second or third rounds and take Flacco or Henne or someone. Wait, how many second round QBs have turned out as of late?

Here is the final equation. Does Jeff think Ryan is a franchise caliber QB? If the answer is yes, its hard to see passing him by.

I do think we will take Darren McFadden. Anybody that thinks that is not a position of need on this team is drinking the clear. Jake Long would be great, but so would four other guys at pick two or three. We will address OL in the draft. There is no other clear number one pick. McFadden moves the chains all game long. I’ll take McF and Anthony Collins with the second pick over Jake Long and gimpy Ronnie Brown for half a year. First pick comes around once in twenty years or so, why would you take anyone that you can get any other year in the third or forth round? Weigh your guaranteed money verses the guaranteed ticket sales generated to calculate the value. Darren pays for himself.

I think us draft eather McFadden or Ryan would be dumb i think we need to go after the Line like he said i would perfer Chris Long but if we take Jake long i would be Ok with that to
