As we all get to really savor what will undoubtedly go down as the worst trade in franchise history, we will have the cold comfort of knowing everyone else saw it coming and still watched the trainwreck with baffled astonishment:

Worst value

The Miami Dolphins took on two descending players and dropped out of the draft's top 10 in a trade that will take some time to understand -- if indeed the reasoning ever becomes clear. Playing with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, Byron Maxwell proved that he doesn't like to tackle and that he is nowhere close to a shutdown corner. Linebacker Kiko Alonso, meanwhile, did nothing to dissuade the notion that he is an injury risk. He has now missed 21 games in the past two seasons. How did this trade do anything but leave the Dolphins with two discards and diminished draft position?

When the only people supporting a move are the teams most ardent fans, yeah maybe it's not such a good deal

Seriously, what's so bad about the trade? We didn't lose any picks. I can see the argument that Philly may have won the trade, but to call it the worst trade in franchise history is a little melo-dramatic. AJ Feeley for a 2nd on line one...

meh, last year we had "good" value with Brice McCain/Delmas I don't really care what people say on day 1 until i see what happens in pre-season at least or after the draft so see a better glimpse of the off-season plan.

When your main complaint against a corner is tackling, you are reaching.

Like being the "free agency" champs last three years and in everybody's winners list has helped us the last forever years.

Awesome! Now keep up the under the radar approach and surprise them in the playoffs.

Still do not understand the rationale for dropping down five slots……..at best Maxwell was going to be cut or some team was going to be begged to take him……and using Alonso as the key piece to get the exchange in first round picks makes no sense……………and yes the losses of all the other players with no real viable replacements…….If you would have signed hayes from the Rams as opposed to williams you could have claimed "victory" in not signing OV……….would have been cheaper and would have had enough money to pay then miller, who psychologically would have represented some success in drafting over these dreadful years and would not have left a hole at RB……..If you would have signed Boone or Scwartz today from detroit, the fan base would have understood that at least you were cutting Thomas and beginning the purge of the worthless members of the roster……but all you have done is lost all good players from your roster, Taylor, Thomas, some of the other scrubs from offensive line, are still here……………..confusing, and frustrating day……..and once again being laughed at by the national media………………..Only way would have felt good about the trade is if we would have traded a fifth rounder or lower for both these borderline players

Yep. Pretty much the ****tiest trade I've ever seen. I mean, it's that bad.
