I detest this apparently underqualified "journalist" who ESPN more or less plucked out of obscurity. Consequently I'm gonna take whatever he pukes out both pro (rarely) and con (ad nauseum) with a grain of salt. IMO he'd be better suited super-sizing fries under the Golden Arches

Such a copycat business. An article came out 3 days ago discussing how Miami might actually have one of the most fluid situations at QB (because they have 2 pseudo-starters and 1 potential long term starter) while most teams who would lose their starter would be in serious trouble.

QB competition is fine but we really need someone to step up and take the starting role. it makes no differance to me who that is but we need a leader to step up before the 3rd practice game and claim the title of starting QB.

All I know is if You have two starting qbs then you really dont have one. i'd like to see someone earn the job early in pre-season and get full reps. everythings new and this is a timing offense if we dont have timeing down were not gonna move the ball.

I think it's pretty clear it's been David thus far, I think the only reason the staff is hesitating is because Matt played so well down the stretch last season, so they don't want to count him out so early. From everything I have read and seen though David has been playing the best in practice.

Walker has been bad mouthing us all off season. He was at the first day of the 3 day mini camp however. Don't know if he visited any other mini camps of AFC East teams but my guess would be that he did.

I would trade our deep group of QBs for one elite QB in a heartbeat!

If garard starts we might be 500. more? 6 wins. Tannehill? who knows?

I think we have a great QB situation if the starter is clear cut.

Basically, I don't see Tanny stepping on the field this year UNLESS the season is completely lost.

With that said, if Garrard wins the job or Moore vise versa, I would rather stick with that QB through the good and bad times rather than play QB musical chairs like we did with Henne and Moore and Henne and Penny and Thigpen etc etc......

Besides, unless Garrard is leaps and bounds above Moore I expect him to be released or traded before the start of the season. Correct me if I'm wrong but his contract is for 1 mill sign bonus and 3 mill if he makes the squad into week 1.

4 Mill for a backup QB who you intend to keep for 1 year is a whole lot of money, with Moore only making something like 950K.

I think your right. Matt Moore is a gamer but not a good practice guy from all reports. I think they are in no rush on Tannehill so maybe David wins by default. I would not count Matt out just yet though. He may kick butt in the pre season games and claim the starting role.

Not so sure the 2011 Colts would agree wtih you on that one, in today's league you need depth at all positions becuase guys just aren't allowed to play with injuries like they used to be able to.
