That he has heard through sources that Philip Rivers will be traded in the offseason and Miami And Minnesota are the front runners. The only thing i don't understand is why Minny?? They have Culpepper.

Have you seen Minnesota play this year? They will probably have a new coach who will want to bring in his own guy...just an assumption.

I just don't see us giving up our first round pick for him.

Ill take Culpepper! Very interesting......the one thing is how we got a deal for Lemon with SD and we seem to be making deals with them and Adam Shefter said the other day that we would have an inside track on PR due to the Lemon deal.

But if we enter the sweepstakes for PR in order to get culpepper gone, Ill take Culpepper please! More Experience and a big body who doesnt get hurt.

Because Culpepper makes bad decisions and in the past those decisions were masked by a strong running game and the Randy Moss' ability to just go up and get anything in the air. He's not a particularly strong leader. Not that we know if Philip Rivers is or isn't, but maybe Minny is just looking for some wholesale changes.

To many boats for him in Miami!

Wait, is Miami a front runner because someone in the 'if you squeal you'll be fired' Saban FO opened his trap, or because someone thinks Miami is in need of a QB and is just guessing?

if culpepper is available i take culpepper all day. peyton manning is the only qb id rather have than daunte. anyways, if we got phillip rivers that would be ok, but i think cleo lemon is better than he is.

miami has a bad record at trading picks for players. ricky, feeley, lemon.. and so on, i can see why some fin fans would not want to trade again.

but rivers is good. and it would be a GOOD trade for the fins.

I have been a little confused by this as well. This is the second or third time I have heard that the Vikings will be in the qb market next offseason. I havnt seen any Vikings games this year so I dont know how badly he has played but its dificult for me to see them investing all these years in Dante along with the new contract that they gave him in the offseason and then just dump him. The only thing I can think of is if the new owner dosnt like him or if he was a signifigant part of the lake cruise of a couple weeks ago. If he was maby the owner wants to make a statment starting at the top about what will be tolorated.

The ricky trade looked good for about a season and a half :) Feeley was a disaster, and I don't think too much about giving up a 6th or 7th or whatever we gave up for Lemon, but the trading up for Carey, reaching for Moore and Fletcher....
...excuse me while I jump off the roof....

I wouldn't mind getting Rivers either, at least then we have some hope of starting new with a young QB. It'll have it's ups and downs, but I think he can be a hell of a QB. For once we wouldn't have a 30+ year old journeyman at the helm....now where did I put Dave Kreig's phone number?

On what, may I ask, do you base that statement? Cleo Lemon is a 3rd string QB that has never taken a snap. Rivers is a 1st round pick with playing experience. I'm not trying to poke fun here, but do you realize how rediculous that sounds?

Lemon>Rivers?

:rofl3:

No, no, no. You can't lump Dave's regime in with Saban using his late round pick to get a project QB now. That's just silly. And picks for Ricky? Ah yea, that was a no brainer.

I think I would take Carson Palmer over Culpepper now too, but Culpepper is pretty dang good. He just misses Linehan and Moss very badly. And give him a running game.....watch out!
