Espn's draft grades

I give us a C as well. I wanted Jimmy Williams and I sure didnt want to draft 2 WRs, 1 was good enough!

i didn't really like kiper's grades in general. the highest he gave was a B+ and the lowest was a C. i guess everyboy had an average draft. and his explanations were all positive things. he didn't really say what teams missed out on, or very many negative things about the picks they made.

Considering we've drafted one good receiver the past five years, I'm okay with drafting two this year.

I will go out on a limb, and say that half way through the year are draft will look like an A+

Cornerback Jason Allen (No. 16), who was recruited by Nick Saban when he was the coach at LSU, has made a great comeback from a hip injury. I was never totally enamored with WR Derek Hagan, but getting him in the third round isn't a bad pick. OT Joe Toledo has a lot of potential but needs some coaching. DT Rodrique Wright's stock seemed to constantly be dropping.

Kiper doesnt give out any As so I thnk the C really is like a B-. Im not sold on Allen but really like Hagan and wright. Toledo is very raw and hope he isnt another wade smith, very talented but just not an starting NFl olineman.

We definitely have some risks. Allen and Rod Wright's health has more speculation than Lavar Arrington's free ageny. Hopefully they are worth the risk, no matter how great or limited it is. Joe Toledo will hopefully work out, but who knows...with his little experience, and injuries in his past. Our recievers seem promising, hopefully they step up, as does Fred Evans. Its really to hard to judge our draft, or any ones for that matter. Noone really knows how these picks will end up. There are so many factors, and the biggest factors, imo, are the teams that pick these kids. How the coaches and organizations raise these 21 and 22 year olds. Thats one big reason you have to like Allens chances in Miami, and question Ernie Sims in Detroit or Chad Greenway in Minn. Im not a big Jay Cutler fan, but you have to love his chances under Mike Shanahan. One thing I believe, is that pre-season will tell. Crowder and Daniels stepped up early, as did Zack and JT back in the day. If our picks are going to contribute, we'll know by late July-mid August
