What do y'all think of this? I would be pretty adamantly against this scenario, and think it's a terrible idea. Anyone disagree? If so, why?

"A team in the top 14 spots in the draft could trade down close to the 15th spot, pick up an extra pick or two, and then trade for Schaub and get the other players they need with the extra picks. Keep in mind, Schaub would have to negotiate a long-term deal with a new club. I'm not sure the Falcons will ever trade Schaub, but if a team calls with a pick close to No. 15, they might sit up and listen. I wonder if teams like Minnesota, Houston or Miami would consider this idea? "

I highly doubt Miami is an option, Schaub is a West Coast Style QB and we don't run a West Coast Offense. If people think Schaub is an option, they probabally think Garcia is an option for Miami. Our next QB is coming from the draft, not another trade.

I for one would definitly be against it, i say trade up and et cj then get smith in the 3rd as a project player.

As much as I like CJ (I think he's gonba be a special player in this league, I really do), the price it'd cost us to move up to probably the 3rd spot to draft him would be insane. We'd be better served picking Quinn if he falls (or Gaines Adams/Levi Brown if he doesnt) and picking up a WR in the later rounds (maybe the 2nd if by some miracle Dwayne Bowe or Sydney Rice falls to us there).

Matt Schaub really has never done a damn thing to merit trading for him. I mean we already did this once with Feeley, there's no way Mueller is as dumb as Spielman.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me"

No to Schaub.
I'd rather draft Quinn if he fell to us at 9.

Schaub's a good QB but I dunno if he'd fit our system that well. If they'll take Daunte and his fat contract, I might consider it.

Hell no!!!! Matt Schaub = :barf:Or should I say Matt Schaub = Scott Mitchell. Any takers? Living in Atlanta, I've seen more than my fair share of Schaub. The Falcon fans here are just as if not more fickle than Dolphin fans. They clamor for Schaub whenever Vick doesn't perform up to their expectations. He is not the answer in Miami as a starter, for depth or any other reason.

I dont see it happening. I see Schaub in Minnesota maybe, I think he could work fine in that system Childress runs. Maybe not a draft pick..

What has Schaub really done in the NFL?

What has Schaub really done in the NFL?

Nothing. Otherwise Atlanta wouldn't be shopping him, and they would be trying to sign him to a long-term deal.

Those are indications that the team that know's him best don't really think that much of him, especially with all the doubts surrounding Vick's ability as a "PASSER".

If Quinn gets picked before #9 I would contact the team that takes him and see if we can work out a deal they can't refuse....just as long as they did not want too much in return. I think we have a about a 50/50 shot at Quinn....The team that worries me is the Vikings.

We leapfrog the Vikings in the 2nd round, that might prove to be key in landing a quality WR that slides from mid-late 1st to 2nd round. Rice or Bowe would be fantastic in that scenario.
