Even ESPN baffled....What is David Garrard's role in Miami?

The worst indignity a franchise can suffer is to be searching for a QB when you absolutely NEED a QB... This is how franchises get stuck in perpetual obscurity... This search should have begun over a year ago in LAST years draft... Ireland waited the entire length of Henne's contract to assess him... This shows a complete and utter lack of foresight and confidence. For this Jeff you will not be forgiven.

Espn is a tool. I agree Peyton was never coming here because we couldn't afford it. For some reason Peyton wanted to get paid and he went to the best of the teams that could afford to match the last contract he was released from. They won't admit it but we never even had a chance. We couldn't pay him half of that. Peyton wanted to get paid.

Well said....Ireland has no football sense and I'm very interested to see how many actual fans will go to the games

This is all Matt Moore's fault. If he didn't play so well we could have gotten Luck or RG3. ;)

I guess but do you really think that Garrard would accept a back-up role?

Of course. Wasn't he sitting on a couch not long ago? The whole reason for this is to have a veteran backup to Moore, because we will be playing with Moore this season. If we manage to draft a QB, then we'll see him next year probably. ESPN is retarded..and we all know this.

anyways, theres always that possibility he gets cut.im looking forward to that day.there has to be some fresher, newer ideas.

ESPN is pretty much as clueless as most of the rabid fans on this board are.

There bloggers tend to take a temperature of what their readers are saying and echo the sentiment they are after all a business and want to make their customers happy.

James Walker has only been on theAFC east blog for 1 year and has no contacts within the organization.

There was nothing "wild" or "zany" about signing Garrard, it was a smart ****ing move and I'm kind of sick of retarded journalists not getting it.

We dodged a bullet by not signing Manning, now we can continue building our team how it should be built

It's just like the Moore signing. The Dolphins didn't land various options at QB in the offseason (Kolb, Young, Orton, McNabb, etc) - and we signed a decent QB who won't really be competition - just a good backup. Last year, it seems they actually did get one of the best options at QB with Moore, but I have a hard time believing we didn't completely whiff on a great QB this year. I'm rooting against Luck, RG3, Manning, and Flynn for the sake of my sanity

Moore was better than every single one of those FA's QBs last season.

F*ck ESPN!

garrard is NOT the viable starter he is competing - who the hell cares? ESPN has an agenda - hype up the sport and tear it down by ruining many of the things it is about with this offensively biased new game we have.

philbin is the coach let him make his decisions. obviously flynn was not his guy, and he knew better than anyone. Peyton for 96 mil. yeah whatever, we'll see how he pans out hes 36 coming off injury and only once had a real good playoff run (twice if you count superbowl loss) kind of reminds me of dan at the end of his career.

tell espn to shove it. making something out of nothing.
