Even Zaslow thinks the fans are over reacting..

Most of these "fans" demand nothing less than an instant championship. Grasping at straws and ignoring logical reasoning. I have just sat back and shook my head at the knee-jerking going on. Actually, my neck hurts from doing it so much. Every team in it's history has had its' share of tough years. Some more than others. And yes, it's deflating and difficult to endure. Especially when we've had a rival team such as the Pats do so well in the same era we are faltering through.
I am also an Angels fan. I've gone through it with them as well over the past 35 years. Seen the horrid years and wondered when will it ever change? Eventually it did and it seems to just get better (signing Pujols & CJ Wilson).
I think the "protest" was over the top. Fans are also riding the media and their wave of insults and drama. They hate the Dolphins and always have had negative things to say about our So. Florida team. Who gives a SHHH what they say or think? I sure don't. This is my team and I love 'em. Things will get better. We made very impressive progress last half of the season. We will need a true #1 QB no doubt. But Moore and Gerrard both have starting experience, not the long term answer but I for one am excited to build a "young" contender through the draft. Retreads and health risk players are just bandages and IMO, are just that, way too risky and detrimental to this process.

Fans are not the ones overeacting, hell fans have been pretty damn patient with a franchise that has 4 losing seasons out of last 5 and not won a playoff game in a decade.

I dont buy that somehow the media hates the phins we just have done the things to get in their bullseye. So if fans were upset and want to voice their displeasure I think that shows that they are fans that actually give a damn and dont wanna accept the continuous losing Ross and Ireland have produced so far. I also fiond it funny that you say retrads and injury concerns are detrimental to process right after you mention garrard.

so you can sit there and honestly say with a straight face the team DIDN'T look different to you after that Broncos game?

Lol? I guess the Jets weren't trying that last game of the year either when they were fighting for their playoff hopes? A team that went to the AFC championship 2 of the last 3 years? We performed very well in the second half of the season...
Of course we looked different in games we won (against bad teams, for the most part, yes, including an imploding jests team) than in games we lost. Not really a revelation. It's also further evidence that QB is by far the most important position in football. When you replace a mediocre backup QB (Henne) with a very good/great backup QB, of course the team will play better. They were still a 6-10 team. Doesn't change that.

You go ahead and ride with that 6-3 stuff and think this is a good team. I'll stick with realizing it's a 3-time losing team that need a lot of work, starting with a QB. We'll see who's right. Again.

I also meant to say do some people realize that the last superbowl we won was in 74 I think many fans are tired of living in past and would like to have something new to brag about. I mean are youn not tired of this convo with other fans. giants fan yea we won another superbowl over pats, dolphins fan yea we went undefeated 4 decades ago lol

Why do people only want to look at a part of the season to make it look better.
We were 6-10 moore was 6-6 so big deal we should have been a .500 team or our usual 7-9

I'm not saying the team is that great.... the bulk of my post was really just defending Ireland's decisions... I think we're finally making solid draft choices / FA acquisitions...

LT over QB ( ), Davis was a good pick (Matthews would have been better, obviously, but let's not split hairs), Odrick appears to be good but still early, and Pouncey was filling a hole he created unnecessarily in the first place. And we still don't have a QB. Meh.

To be fair, that year you're talking about where we took Long over Ryan, NOBODY even considered Matt Ryan worthy of the #1 overall pick. I believe he was even considered a reach to the falcons at #3??? All the talk was about Jake Long , Chris Long, Vernon Gholston etc for the #1 pick... Not to mention matt ryan hasn't even really proved much yet in his career, and Jake Long has.

 Always seem to come back to the a LT instead of QB discussion, I guess the only point this will ever be over is when either the Falcons with Ryan win a SB (Or at least get there) or Miami reaches/Wins a SB with Jake on the team...But I am sure there will be other excuses if Miami does it 1st.

 I guess now the response to my post will be, "No danger in the near or distant future of Miami reaching a SB, let alone winning a SB."

It'll all be settled on the field ... and it sure doesn't look like it's going to be pretty.

Last year, was the EXACT same discussions & debates ... and it sure wasn't pretty.

The year before, was ALSO the EXACT same discussions & debates ... and it sure wasn't pretty.

Fact is ... there has to be something significant to make a real change ... and the last few years there has not. Even if we do a little better, without a significant change ... it will be fool's gold & the SS Minow will continue to be buffeted by the NFL stormy waters.

I think Ryan as a qb has proven every bit as much as Long has. Not many qb's in thier 4th year in the league are considered the best qb in the nfl so being damn good at qb ix a pretty damn impressive accomplishment.

Our drafts have been SOLID lately, which I wasn't able to say about the Fins through the entire Cameron / Wannstedt/ Saban era

Give it a rest people, Ireland has been an above average NFL GM lately

A lot of people praise Ireland's draft last year. By my count, we added one season long starter to a team which went 7-9. What exactly is great about that?

 can't wait til WV sees this. Plenty were calling for Ryan over anybody else, at least those with sense that saw QB as the most important position in football. And guess what, they were right. Matt Ryan hasn't proven much? Ugh, here we go again with this nonsense. Not a single losing season, multiple playoff runs, etc. Jake Long? That elite LT has helped us to how many winning seasons (let alone playoffs)? And now he appears to have injury problems. Awesome. Congrats. Well done with that "safe" pick. Do you honestly believe that if we took Ryan over Long there would be anybody, even one single person on here, saying we should have taken Jake Long? Please.

The top QB of his class - there for a team without one
