Zaslow...now there's a man with his head on straight.

Because that's where it all started, isn't it? You can't talk about how bad ass of a drafter Ireland is without that coming up. And damn right that's the response. You see, let me teach you a bit about how the NFL season works. I know it's been a while since we were competing for, let alone in, the playoffs, so you may have forgotten. You see, in order to compete for a SB, you have to make it to the playoffs. Guess who has competed for a playoff spot every year over the past four years? Guess who has snuck into a playoff spot once in the past four years and has had losing seasons the rest of the time?Always seem to come back to the a LT instead of QB discussion, I guess the only point this will ever be over is when either the Falcons with Ryan win a SB (Or at least get there) or Miami reaches/Wins a SB with Jake on the team...But I am sure there will be other excuses if Miami does it 1st.
I guess now the response to my post will be, "No danger in the near or distant future of Miami reaching a SB, let alone winning a SB."
And at a position that only became a need because Ireland made it a need unnecessarily. Well done.A lot of people praise Ireland's draft last year. By my count, we added one season long starter to a team which went 7-9. What exactly is great about that?
Can you name three game breakers that Jeff has drafted? Mr. Ross has his yes man in Jeff. Mr. Ross says he still learning. Well between the two of them they better get this going the right way very soon, or this will just get worse.Listening to 790 tonight, even Zaslow is asking people openly what was so bad about this off-season... Zaslow is a known Glass is Half Full / Negative Dolphins "fan", and even he thinks the outrage is ridiculous...
We were 6-3 in our last 9 games and looked like a better team. Yet somehow just because we didn't get a franchise quarterback this offseason, the fans are screaming for Ireland to be fired?? We signed Reggie Bush when other teams thought he wasn't even starter material.... . This year we bring in David Garrard who might end up being better than Moore if he's healthy... he's a former pro bowler who we got for cheap. Our drafts have been SOLID lately, which I wasn't able to say about the Fins through the entire Cameron / Wannstedt/ Saban era
Give it a rest people, Ireland has been an above average NFL GM lately
Question is will Ireland get Joe the players he needs. The glass is half full 6-10, 7-9, 7-9. I would hate to see a full glass! As a fan I got a right to object to 3 losing seasons and no playoff wins in 10 years. Changing QBs every 2 years. Changing coaches every 2-3 years.
I am very happy about philbin and the defense.
Most of these "fans" demand nothing less than an instant championship. Grasping at straws and ignoring logical reasoning. I have just sat back and shook my head at the knee-jerking going on. Actually, my neck hurts from doing it so much. Every team in it's history has had its' share of tough years. Some more than others. And yes, it's deflating and difficult to endure. Especially when we've had a rival team such as the Pats do so well in the same era we are faltering through.
I am also an Angels fan. I've gone through it with them as well over the past 35 years. Seen the horrid years and wondered when will it ever change? Eventually it did and it seems to just get better (signing Pujols & CJ Wilson).
I think the "protest" was over the top. Fans are also riding the media and their wave of insults and drama. They hate the Dolphins and always have had negative things to say about our So. Florida team. Who gives a SHHH what they say or think? I sure don't. This is my team and I love 'em. Things will get better. We made very impressive progress last half of the season. We will need a true #1 QB no doubt. But Moore and Gerrard both have starting experience, not the long term answer but I for one am excited to build a "young" contender through the draft. Retreads and health risk players are just bandages and IMO, are just that, way too risky and detrimental to this process.
LT over QB (), Davis was a good pick (Matthews would have been better, obviously, but let's not split hairs), Odrick appears to be good but still early, and Pouncey was filling a hole he created unnecessarily in the first place. And we still don't have a QB. Meh.
You do realize Ireland wanted to sign him and was shot down by Ross, right? Love that he's getting credit for not being allowed to sign the mediocre QB he wanted to. Also love that the fans are the focus of your ire more than the schmucks running a 6-10 team.
People here are like some of my exgirlfriends, they let their emotions dictate there process of thought. Not good at all.
If you take out a rare onside kick recovery from that broncos game, we're 7-2 in our last 9. That doesn't look that bad to me...
Honestly a lot of our losses we dominated the other team for a lot of the game... the team is nowhere near as bad as the fans think right now
