Even Zaslow thinks the fans are over reacting..

 can't wait til WV sees this. Plenty were calling for Ryan over anybody else, at least those with sense that saw QB as the most important position in football. And guess what, they were right. Matt Ryan hasn't proven much? Ugh, here we go again with this nonsense. Not a single losing season, multiple playoff runs, etc. Jake Long? That elite LT has helped us to how many winning seasons (let alone playoffs)? And now he appears to have injury problems. Awesome. Congrats. Well done with that "safe" pick. Do you honestly believe that if we took Ryan over Long there would be anybody, even one single person on here, saying we should have taken Jake Long? Please.

What has Matt Ryan proven? Tell me that! Look at the playoff appearances. Is there a SB ring on his finger?!? NO!! So, if there is no ring, this is a moot point. Neither Jake Long or Matt Ryan has gone to the SB and neither has even gotten close enough. So when Matt Ryan makes it there and wins then you can use this tired excuse that Long over Ryan was a mistake. Otherwise, your point is useless.

Wow

Because that's where it all started, isn't it? You can't talk about how bad ass of a drafter Ireland is without that coming up. And damn right that's the response. You see, let me teach you a bit about how the NFL season works. I know it's been a while since we were competing for, let alone in, the playoffs, so you may have forgotten. You see, in order to compete for a SB, you have to make it to the playoffs. Guess who has competed for a playoff spot every year over the past four years? Guess who has snuck into a playoff spot once in the past four years and has had losing seasons the rest of the time?

And the only way that Miami makes it to the SB first is if they do what we said in the first place. Get a QB. ;)

Yeah Matt Ryan has been the SB right? Where is his SB ring. How did he do in the playoffs last year, let me think? 24/41 199 yards no TD's. Yeah that will get you to the SB.

Is this all you have to contribute? Wow what? Please tell me where I am wrong. Come with something refuting what I said. Do either of them have a SB? No. That is the purpose of every season, to get to the SB. Is it not? When and if Matt Ryan does it, then I will say that Matt Ryan was the better pick, until then, I will let the people that do know, do their damn job.

Id rather not. This amuses me. Please carry on.

Play nice boys, there is no denying that Matt Ryan is better than any QB the Dolphins have had in years but there is also going to be critics of Ryan until he wins it all or goes deep into the playoffs.

I am of the notion that you have to get to the playoffs to win a playoff game and Ryan gives you a better shot than the majority of QB's in the league.

Not disputing the fact that Ryan is a good QB, my dispute is everyone bringing up the choice of Long over Ryan after how many years? That's all I am trying to point out. Just tired of that crap to be honest. Have nothing against anyone or their opinions. My 2 cents.

I disagree about Davis and Matthews. I take Davis every time over Matthews. LT over Ryan. I don't think I'm the only one out there who thinks Ryan is just okay as a qb, he's no franchise qb either.
I am happy with Davis, but every time? You're acting like Matthews isn't a dominant player. Sensing a bit of homerism.

As for LT over QB, including Ryan; pure silliness. The Falcons understood what wins games in the modern NFL, and it certainly isn't LT. They got their QB and built around him, and he's gotten them to 4 consecutive winning seasons and 3 playoff appearances in which they lost to the eventual Super Bowl rep and/or winner. Yeah, nothing franchise about that. LT and Henne was clearly the smarter way to go.

I don't know about Davis over Matthews, but Davis over Hakiem Nicks was just stupid!

Yes every time. I consider Davis a shutdown corner. I consider matthews an average back unless I'm missing something. I didn't say we don't need a franchise qb but I don't consider Ryan a franchise qb. Let me put it this way, I will guarantee atl doesn't win the sb with Ryan as long as Ryan is there. Take it tO the bank. You also need much more than a good qb to win sb. Didn't we have Marino all those years? How many sb's did we win?
